Professor Gordon is fantastic. Pragmatic and funny, her parallels (which border on the hilarious) really helped me learn and stay engaged with the material. In addition to being an great teacher, Professor Gordon is a fantastic person as well as an accomplished individual in her field. A fantastic conversationalist! I''ll miss the class tons.

I have taken Dr. Gordon for quite a few philosophy courses. The readings range in difficulty, however, she really does a great job clarifying them. Midterm and final are taken verbatim from the handouts. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She seems very intimidating at first but don't be fooled she is one of the nicest prof. at FU.

So much reading and work for a core class. Not an easy A. Turbo drags on. Would not recommend this teacher

Not a bad class. Attendance is mandatory and you have to do the readings. If you take good notes you will be able to get an A. If you participate (but aren't annoying about it) she will like you.

Sarcastic and funny. Good teacher for this hard subject. Lots of notes (most of the time incoherent and unorganized) but the test questions (2 tests and a final, no midterm) are literally the notes she puts on the board. So if you go to class, take the notes, memorize the fragments she writes up there, and put it in the test booklet... easy A.

Great class. Class can be a tad bit boring at times but that's the price you pay for not having to write any papers or take tests that contain more than 4 short answer questions. The readings can be a little bit difficult to understand but as long as you can say something about each of the reading questions and take notes in class you will be fine.

DO NOT TAKE HER! Her class killed me the entire semester. She is extremely intelligent but the workload is ridiculous. You have to go to every single class. she made us write a 15-20 pg paper. She calls on you randomly to check if you're reading. If you can't answer the question she marks it down and it will effect your grade. Avoid.

Best philosophy teacher hands down. Extremely clear and her grading is fair. Participation counts for alot. If you actually do the homework (reading and questions) and go to class you'll get at least a B. Best of all there's no papers.

Dr. Gordon is the black hole of philosophical thought. Class is an inquisition. She starts off the semester calling her teaching style fascist. She says if your grandmother dies she's still taking off participation pts if you don't show up to class. NEVER TAKE HER! most condescending, anti-thought teacher you will ever have the misfortune of taking.

Attendance is absolutely mandatory. You aren't allowed to miss any class. But she gives you homework questions and chooses a select few as the test questions. This is a LOT of work though for a core. But I'd reccomend her, shes a nice lady and is very thorough.

She definitely seems intimidating at first, but once you get to know her you will realize that she's actually very nice.Has very clear and engaging discussions in class. She will assign you a 15-18 page research paper and quite a bit of reading, but if you take it one class at a time it's actually not as difficult as it you could make it. Take her.

The first day of class, she was extremely intimidating, but is NOT at all what she seems the rest of the semester. She does not make philosophy harder than it already is, she is helpful understanding and only 3 tests during the semester. No papers, just readings and answering questions. One of the smartest ppl i have ever met!
