Joy starks and making students read excerpts from a book titled "the pokey little puppy" are the only high points of her courses. also, as a student yourself, do not help other students in *any* way possible. Joy starks considers even the tiniest amount cheating and will give credit to the other student and discredit you.

very harsh on grading and on picking apart students' work and. did not give anyone a chance. in fact, In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. Professor Starks is by far the worst professor I have ever had. Her syllabus clearly states that you are expected to work approximately 15-20 hours per week on her class, so unless you want to make this class your part time job and get a mediocre grade for it, don't take it. She is also incredibly rude so don't bother asking questions.

Professor Starks was a great professor. Yes, the class was tough because she expected you to thoroughly understand the concepts but she was always available to help you. She really cares about the success of her students and her students themselves. All in all, I would recommend that others take this class with her.

This is the second course I've taken with Professor Starks, one live and one online. The two biggest problems I have with Professor Starks is her lack of clarity and her grading. She gives vague explanations of expected results for the assignment then grades on what she would have done, not what the assignment states. She's quite rude as well.

Joy had her up days and her down days. There would be days where she'd walk in and be happy and would in my book earn a 4 or 5. Other days she must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed because she was ruthless! Very rude and harsh. At times she just seemed to want to yell at people on the web or their phones. We're college students and can make our own choices. These days she'd earn a 1 or no stars because she failed to properly get the material across. She was in her office to help often.

She is very bad teacher. Nobody should take her class because she is sick women. She thinks that she is always right and if you don't do it her way, even if it is right, you will get zero and a warning. I second that she is harsh on minorities!

She is a wonderful teacher. I'm not sure why all these other people don't like her. She is very nice and knows what she is talking about. If you do your work then you will be fine in this class. I highly recommend her!
