Comment:

Dr. Carbonell is pretty good. Her lectures are clear and her tests are fair. She assigns one paper that she gives plenty of time to do. She takes attendance using an iclicker; not every class but maybe once a week. She also gives random extra credit quizzes and has an extra credit paper opportunity. All in all, would recommend.

Everything in the chapters and all her notes are fair game for the tests. 75 question tests which are pretty difficult. She gives extra credit and assigns a pretty easy paper. Would NOT recommend her.

This class really isn't that bad but it is extremely boring if you aren't a feminist. There are a lot of notes so bring your laptop. The tests have A LOT of material on them so I suggest you start studying a few days before the test. The paper was the easiest part of the class. I BSed it and got an A. GO TO CLASS! The extra credit matters.

Dr. Carbonell is an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining teacher. I legitimately enjoyed going to her class. The tests can be vague and confusing but she makes up for it by giving lots of extra credit.

Dr. Carbonell is a great teacher. She keeps you entertained during the whole class period. You can definitely tell that she genuinely cares about her students and that she wants you to succeed. Sometimes her tests are difficult, but fair.

I highly recommend Dr. Carbonell for Psych of Women. Lectures are interesting and entertaining; she always finds a way to make all 200 students laugh. Powerpoints are detailed and clear but she doesn't put them online. Exams are a bit difficult. I recommend getting the book. One required paper, four exams. Attendance and quizzes are extra credit.

I promise to you, this woman finds a way to discourage students. All she talk about is her kids being Chinese. I guarantee you she used another book to make her test questions. 75 freaking questions and half not even in the notes. She doesn't post ppt on bb. For extra credit she asked to read harlequin book &summarize it. Run fast! DO NOT TAKE HER.

Gives extra credit, but only because her test questions are far too tricky and long so extra credit realistically only gives you what you should have got on her stupid exam. Majority is on material not discussed in class. You wouldn't think someone wouldn't be able to make "Psych of Women" hard/tricky but I promise you she finds a way!

I strongly advise taking any of the other teachers who teach this class if you want an A (not A-). There is a brand new book but I swear all her test questions must be from her old book. 75 questions and way too tricky. Its like she goes out of her way to make her answer choices confusing. Gives us way too many notes that we aren't tested on.

Shes nice, dont get me wrong, just that her power points are really boring. Some of her stories are funny but her loonggg lectures make you want to sleep. She randomly takes attendance and doesnt give you a study guide. Theres a lot of extra credit make sure you do it! I had a B and all my extra credit gave me an A.

Did not like her class because she didn't give out a study guide for tests. Her tests were on the books and the notes, but you wouldn't know what exactly to study for. She does give out alot of extra credit. But it still didn't help me. I ended up dropping her course :-/ However, I did take it in the summer...(6 weeks span).

This was an early class that I managed to get up for every Tues/Thurs. She is so interesting and funny, I enjoyed every minute of this class. The tests were, indeed, a little difficult, but simply reading the chapters and notes before the tests will help you ace them. Going to class also helps. ;)

Dr. Carbonell was amazing. She's the kind of professor that makes you want to go to class, because she's so interesting to listen to. She relates the material to real life. Tests are tough, but she offers a lot of extra credit assignments and quizzes. Takes attendance on random days. I would highly recommend her.
