I did not like this class one bit. It was annoying and had no context. The amount of reading was crazy. She was also a tough grader and is the most crazy animal teacher.

Class is as boring as it gets. Feedback on graded assignments is not timely. Office hours are not particularly useful. Oftentimes does not remember who is who. Might think this is the only class you take.

Honestly in her class i should have brought a pillow with me. She requires you to be there. If you have the option between taking this and literally any other Fys choose any other. Oh btw she loves her class and will let you know every class. I highly suggest watching a movie 80 times or until its locked in your brain. This may help you pass time.

She is a very nice lady but sometimes confused me about what she wants for papers and test preparations. The books are not very interesting but her tests are HARD! All about details like names and terms from 7 books, which is impossible to remember. Overall great lady with charming personality, but I won't take her again.

Dr. MacAllister's class can be very interesting for animal lovers (definitely take this fys if you love horses). She's very lenient on tests, and you'll get fair grades on papers as long as you put enough effort into them.

Though the first two books for this class are quite hard to read, the latter ones are much better and you may enjoy them even if you are not an animal person. She is a tough grader on papers but a great person who really cares about her students. She would give you lots of feedbacks on your assignments and even tests for you to do better next time.

Her classes are boring and the readings are excessive. Moreover, the readings aren't even interesting. For tests you are expected to remember every minute detail. Do not take her unless you're really into animals and love reading about them (it's no fun).

She taught me Noble Beasts, but is normally a Writing/English professor. Terribly tough grader on papers, but remarkably easier with tests, she understands that you'll make grammatical mistakes on tests. You need to read the chapters assigned, not for quizzes but rather, because it's the only way to write the papers adequately in terms of content.

Her class is not difficult and rather rewarding if you are willing to put in the work that is required. The kids that struggled with the writing and tests are the ones who never read a single book. The course is rather faced paced but totally doable. Dr. MacAllister is a totally underrated professor. She is smart and helpful.

Super easy and class is a joke. Show up, skim the readings, and get help on your papers and you'll get an A. I went to her for help on my papers and was great, although you have to bring a thesis or she wont help you. If you don't go for help she'll pull a grade out of her ass so be careful. but if youre looking for an easy seminar, this is it

Don't take her for Noble Beasts, she was terrible. She gives absurd essay prompts and does not give any assistance even when the entire class questions the meaning of her prompts. Not worth wasting your time being frustrated with her. She treated us like we were a fourth grade class and had ridiculous requirements for essay writing. Not worth it.

She is really sweet but somewhat challenging. She assigns a lot of reading homework and expects everyone to stay caught up. She seems to think that pop quizzes are rewards. But she is a fair grader and even though she has no idea how to use technology she tries her hardest. Slightly absent-minded but quite amusing...

Literally the worst professor I've ever had. Impossible to do well on exams and papers, very dry, and very old. She loves cats. The daily reading responses become overbearing, and the discussions she leads are boring to say the least. If your writing doesn't fit the mold that she likes, she will fail you. Don't take her class.

Ohhhh Joyce... gotta love her. She is a good professor, slightly boring though. The fact that she is obsessed with cats and horse races makes her awesome. I did take some good knowledge out of the class though... not sure if I would take it again just because it was really repetitive. Sometimes that was nice, you always know whats expected.

Joyce assigns reading responses due for every class, which is actually really annoying, but without them I wouldn't have read any of the core books. So in a way that is somewhat helpful. So easy to just sit there and do nothing during class, but I thought she was a tough paper-grader.

Her quiet, monotonous voice, interlaced with "mk"s and "alright"s will enchant you straight away. Her arbitrary grades are based on her whims. There is not a single person in this class that would still be here if the class wasn't required. To use a simile, herclass is like dying from excessive acupuncture.
