Joyce is so great at being there for you all the time, she is so sweet. Sometimes she forgets to tell you about assignments or is not always 100% clear on what she wants, but responds all the time to emails, enjoys office visits and her syllabus is always a resource. She gives a lot of feedback on rough drafts before turning in for a final grade.

Joyce is one of the nicest people I've met and she genuinely cares about her students personally and academically. She gives detailed feedback on papers and is more than willing to help. This class is very laid back and mostly discussion based; do the assignments and you'll have no problem. I highly recommend taking a class from Joyce! (:

I took this class because other FTS sections had already filled, but I liked it a lot. She gives great comments on papers - I went from a C to an A paper on one revision using her comments in conjunction with those of my peers. She can get classes into heated debates that can be really eye-opening and fun. I'd take class with her again in a second.
