Dr. Joiner is incredibly brilliant! I have to say, though, he is one of the most difficult professors I have ever had. You have to work hard to pass his classes, but he's very helpful and will answer any questions you have. Very approachable!

I was very nervous about taking Hist 499, but Dr. Joiner was very helpful and patient. He never makes you feel bad about asking a million questions, and always has very clear and useful answers. If you're a History major, and you take 499, I'd definitely suggest waiting until he is teaching it.

I highly recommend Dr. Joiner. I am an Education-Social Studies major and have taken his classes 4 times. He knows his material, is very intelligent and interesting, is super kind and attentive. He expects the same from his students. He is fast-paced and challenging, but you get out of it what you invest into it. Made As & Bs in his classes.

Dr. J is great! Those who didn't do well are just lazy. The ones who go to class to learn will love him. Those who hope to just skate by shouldn't take him and shouldn't be in school at all! He is very willing to help and cares about his students!

Great guy, has an abundance of knowledge on the subject matter, but his lectures were too fast. He was hard to follow and there was too much information to be stretched between the midterm & final, both of which I didn't do as well as I'd hoped on. I wouldn't take him again b/c he can wreak havoc on your GPA

Dr. J seems like a very nice man. He is definately very intelligent and fun to listen to, but not good for a class. I took him for a couple of weeks and had to drop. I have had Dr. L and Dr. D and can keep up with them, but not with Dr. J. He jumps around so much that I couldn't keep up with a recording I could pause. Not recommended for class.
