Comment:

She requires you to do a lot of work, be ready for it. The work isn't that hard, just time consuming. The information you learn is stuff you will actually use while teaching, which is a plus. Watch out for her bad days, she can be awfully grouchy. If she brings her daughter to class, you might as well leave, because nothing gets accomplished!

I thought Joyce was a GREAT professor! I learned so much in this class. The class was tough though, lots of projects and must take notes on every chapter in the book. If you actually want to learn something while in the ed program at Oakland, I would highly recommend Wiencek!

Prof. Wiencek teaches a lot of good information that I will definately use in the future. She is not very helpful outside of class. She Her attitude really bothers me. It is easy to see that she thinks that she is the best at everything she does. She treats the class as if we are in elementary school. She even writes names on the board.

This class wasn't the easiest class I've taken at Oakland but it was one of the most beneficial. I feel prepared to teach because I took Joyce's class. Liked her She really helped me understand how to write a detailed lesson plan as well as being very knowledgable to teach Language Arts or reading.

If you are going for language arts major/minor, she will prepare you for the MTTC test.Otherwise I think she is so stuck on her way of doing things, and your way is wrong. She doesn't know the difference between MLA and APA, and will mark you wrong any way. She acts very pompous!
