The most horrible person / professor I have ever come across at UCLA. Told me I do not deserve to be here because I am a transfer student. Truly disgusting behavior for a professor with tenure. Class isn't too hard tho, but she honestly made me regret going to UCLA.

P. Carney is the most amazing teacher everyone adores here. Her lectures are fascinating and she is a very positive person and encourages you to succeed. Will definitely be taking more classes with her. Need to go to every class or get good notes from peers. This class requires a lot of reading but it is intriguing and not too difficult. BEST PROF!

She is the most passionate and inspiring professor I have ever encountered. She is realistic, yet positive about the future of Africa. If you are a serious student, and not a slacker, you should have absolutely no problem in her class. Listen to her instructions about the test format and her expectations and you will be fine. You will learn tons!

lectures are interesting, she has personal experiences in africa that she can talk about, but you have to share her interest in the welfare of people and not just pure geography, if u take good notes u will do well in the class, she really tests on the readings!
