Chubb is a great professor, but is very very hard when grading. Very helpful in office hours. Make sure to be specific on tests and papers as much as possible, because if you try to bull your way through the class, she can figure it out pretty easily. Only 2 papers, a midterm, final for work, and participation along with those is your grade.

Prof. Chubb's course was extremely challenging, but it was a course that i'm glad I took. Her lectures were thought-provoking and made me really THINK about the world around me. A lot of reading is involved. Skim the PDFs because she calls on random students during class, but the books she assigned were worthwhile to read!

Prof Chubb is outstanding, who knows the materials inside out. We are encourage to just open our minds and perceive a new outlook on the materials that were presented. Do the reading and expect to work hard. It was the most rewarding A I have ever received, as it was not just the grade, it was an experience that will render with me for a lifetime.

This woman changed my life. She is absolutely brilliant and has inspired me to think about the world in an entirely different way. She is tough and demanding, but in an inspiring way-- you WANT to work hard for her because she makes you a better student, person, and world citizen. I would take every class with her if I could

She is an amazing professor. She is tough, but she is very willing to help. She is brilliant and she will make you feel comfortable in the class. Be prepared to do a lot of work though. She will make you speak in class which is great. She makes you feel more confident in yourself. I recommend everyone who is willing to take her.

very demanding. she is absolutely GENIUS and i learned a tremendous amount from her class.Class was always very interesting but the readings and papers are very difficult.I loved her style of teaching.I considered this one of my hardest classes but I recommend it if your willing to work hard.infamous in her dep. for being hard but at HC who isn't?

Awesome Prof. Explains everything, and if she doesn't, you can see her in office hours - she'll be there - she always is. Far and away, the most helpful prof in the department. Grade scale is on the tough side, but how many profs at HC give a lot of high marks anyway? If you're willing to do some work, take Prof Chubb and expect to be rewarded.

One of HC's best. Yes, many people find her to be difficult, but this stems from her very demanding teaching style. She is probably both the most intelligent and most caring of all of the Poli Sci profs. If you put in the effort Dr. Chubb looks for, expect to be rewarded with a really great experience. My favorite professor, hands down.

Hardest class I've had at Holy Cross. Prof. Chubb is extremely helpful in office hours and has a definite interest in your understanding of the material. She is a very hard grader, don't expect an easy class at all. I recommend her for anyone who is either a major, but if you aren't genuinely interested take someone else.

shes an awesome teacher and shes very intelligent. she knows the subject matter very good, but her lectures can be very boring sometimes. shes extremely helpful in office hours, so use them, and you definitley have to do the readings to understand anything. shs a pretty hard grader, but she makes the effort to help all her studemts.

I would echo the comments of others. Professor Chubb is a very nice lady who is extremely intelligent. I would highly recommend taking advantage of her office hours. She is really helpful with papers and stuff. Do the readings and make sure you understand the fundamental concepts and you should do well in her class. I thought it was a great class!
