I have taken Latin I and II with Downs. Her class wasn't easy but I admire how she pushed us to do and know more. She's nice, articulate and a good story teller. If you're looking for a challenge then I recommend taking her class.

ok i don't know what either of the 2 below me are talking about...sure she is nice once you get to know her, then again so am i...she should not be teaching spanish at all, yes shes that terrible. she speaks NO SPANISH in class and very questionable if she even knows how to speak fluently. i felt like i knew more than her. shes terrible don't take

this lady is honestly the worst spanish teacher i have ever encountered. she barley teaches, never speaks fluent spanish, and gives work that she hasn't explained the material to...she really ****ing sucks don't take her classes

she doesn't speak any spanish during class. by far the worst spanish teacher i have ever had, she doesn't even seem fluent at all, all she does is tell you to get with a partner, its basically a self learning class. if your reading this professor you really need to retire you old retard

She should have stuck to teaching Spanish. Horrible latin professor; it almost physically pained her to smile on the first day of class. There is almost no verbal practice, and you're expected to memorize a very large amount of material in a very short amount of time.

Her teaching style is very helpful. She emphasises verbal communication via group exercises and translation of paragraphs from Spanish into English. I'm glad she speaks fluent Spanish in class so that the students will become accustomed to how Spanish should be spoken.

Class is pretty good, but you have to pay attention. It seems a little hard at first because she prefers you to talk instead of write, but it's actually a good way of learning spanish. Nice lady, i recomend taking her.
