I had this professor for Professional Writing and she was the furthest thing from being professional. She treats students like they are children and blames the student for any difficulties in the class (with understanding assignments, not being able to reach the professor). Do yourself a favor and avoid her. She is awful.

Professor Van was one of the best Professors I've had so far at ASU. She actually cared about you and got back to you with any questions you emailed her by the next day. She made herself available for you by phone/email/in person (this was an online class). It was a very difficult advanced course, Which was specified from the start, so you will write your butt off. But I still managed an A. She is very clear with deadlines and tests are simple. If you bomb a paper you get a makeup.

Be prepared to know hot to write papers. That's her entire class for the most part. Always do your HW on time or you're in deep****. If you got good grades in high school writing, you should excel in her class provided you hand everything in on time.

Lazy teacher. She would respond with "No, sorry. You didn't get the point on this assignment" and I'd wonder what I was missed. When I'd email her for more information she'd tell me to "read the book and look up the examples provided online". Nothing beyond that. The most frustrating teacher! Coming from an honors student, that's saying a lot.

This class was completely based online. She was EXTREMELY helpful via email. Made my first internet class experience very positive. This class requires a lot of work by posting work/essays by deadline times. This class required that you read the textbook ACTIVELY. Overall an easy A as long as you meet with her before essays are due/submitted.

She's very helpful. I liked her because she made us think, and I got a-lot out of her class. She gives you the opportunity to rewrite one paper during the semester and is more than fair when it comes to grading. I got an A in her class, but man did I have to work for it. DO NOT SLACK OFF IN THIS CLASS! Work hard, and you'll get a decent grade.

Mrs. Van is fun. She likes art and took us to a museum and an art show to write about it. She is strict about class rules, but the assingments are pretty interesting and we get to pick our own topic.
