wayyyyyyyyyyy too much work , especially for a low level class. Extremely hard grader, looks for the most minor and meaningless details. Do not take this class if you are a full time student or work a lot.

I personally do not like how he posts homework assignments the week it needs to be done. This is an accelerated online class and he should not be doing that. He puts up way too many things that are pointless to watch or read. He stated a video needed to be watch and then tells a student that we did not need to watch it to answer an assignment.

I just finished this class & it was the hardest class I have ever taken. He has only DBs, 3 quizzes, 2 study guides, & 3 big papers. The study guides were over an entire book that he expects you to read in a week basically & then the papers are each 1500 words. The thing that helped was he grades easy except on papers. Get ready to read 3 books!

There is too much work in this class. I took it online and there are just papers to do, no exams. He's a fair grader and gives you pointers on what you should do for the next assignment. The only thing I disliked were the study guides. He makes you look for every little answer within the books for the study guides that are around 50 questions each.

Dr. Clay is a valuable resource. The man is literally a walking encyclopedia of information. His lectures were always engaging and he will elaborate on the readings and does a good job of explaining them. If you have an interest in the material you will enjoy his class. Attend class, read the material, and you will do well.

I did not like him as a teacher at all. He stutters through his entire lecture which makes it hard to pay attention. He does post all his lectures online, but They don't help on the tests at all. Not always very clear when teaching, just makes me not want to attend his class...

So far, this is the best professor I have had at ASU. He had a great amount of enthusiasm for the subject and worked hard to make the class interesting. Any time I needed help, he was completely open to taking time out of his day to sit down and talk. Difficult subject matter, but with hard work, a high mark is completely do-able.

I'll always remember fondly Professor Clay singing, A Capella, an aria from Prokofiev's opera War and Peace. Very enthusiastic professor.

Very steady workload, lots and LOTS of reading, must get ALL textbooks. Very detailed lectures, heavy oinline material, but a very interesting class. I enjoyed learning the material and prof was available whenever help was needed. The class was worth all the hard work.

He can be very interesting but be prepared to study very hard in this class. The midterm and final are brutal. There are also papers that are comprehensive so you need to read all of the books. If you work hard then you have a good chance of passing.

STAY AWAY FROM HIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS. There ARE other good religions classes, but not his. He expects you to remember the gritty details of every topic he covers, rather than the important details. His tests are exhaustive, 100-150 questions per, with very specific multiple choice. He splits evenly between lectures and readings.

The teacher is brillant, excentric, and hard. He does know what he is talking about, and often gets overly excited about the material. His enthusiasm, is what makes sitting through classes tollerable. If you want to learn a lot he can help, but don't expect a bird course.

Attend lectures, sometimes he changes things and forgets to put it online. He has some kind of speech impediment and occaisionally starts yelling, but other than that his class is extraordinarily boring. His tests are straightforward though. Multiple choice, just know everything on the review. An A is definitely possible.

This was the hardest class in the world to stay awake in. The guy is crazy. The only thing interesting in his class was when he would try to wake someone up.

I think he is really passionate about what he teachers, he just has problems communicating. Its hard to understand him sometimes. Passing the class is easy though. All you really have to do is read the book and go on the website that is on the book and take those quizes. His quizes are similar to those. There is plenty of points in the class though

Very hard class. Prof. Clay does all his work on this subject (religion in Russia) and he expects you to learn everything he knows about it in one semester. He grades fairly easily, but if you take this class be prepared to work hard!

He is a total nutcase! His class is sooo boring except for when he acts rediculous and chases after people who are leaving early. If you study the chapters and the powerpoints then you should do ok. However, there is a test nearly every other week so it does require a lot of studying.
