Comment:

She is a good teacher but you will have plenty of "mini projects" and she will grade those as a math teacher and as an English teacher which is a little ridiculous, so don't make spelling mistakes or anything like that. She does give bonus opportunities but you have to be on the ball with them. LOTS of homework & its due at 8am instead of midnight.

Comment:

I took her online class, and I really loved her as a professor. Algebra is a poor subject for me and I had to study a lot, but Dr. Kirk responded to emails quickly and was very helpful. She seemed very kind and patient. MyMathLab was a great tool and the videos were helpful. I would definitely take her again.

Comment:

I had Mrs. Kirk for Quant. Lit. and for Col. Alg. She is very good at what she does. It is imperative you don't miss a lot of class, and are able to take good notes. If she says "this is important," you will see it on your tests and/or throughout the semester. I'm glad to have her as an instructor a 3rd time for Bus. Calc. next semester. Love her!

Lectures never match up with assignments. NOT helpful when approached with questions. Hard to reach outside of classroom. Does not reply to emails. Very rude. Heavy work load. Would never suggest this teacher!!

If you like having 30 problem homework assignments a night and doing homework that doesnt not line up with lecture, or is just 10x harder than what is shown in class. Then this is the class to take. If you want to actually learn something take someone else.

When I made the decision to continue my education some 13 years after high school, I was very nervous. I must say that my worst subject became one of the best, as Mrs. Kirk helped me gain confidence in my abilities. I highly recommend her for Quantitative Literacy.

I took her for Quantitative Literacy, and she is very nice. My class was also very respectful, and there was a guy in the back who asked a bunch of questions and she answered every one of them to the best of her ability. She is also very sweet. Just remember to log onto MyMathLab because that's a big part of the grade.

I took her for Applied Statistics, and its a difficult class. Tests and quizzes arent that hard. If you have trouble just ask, she if very willing to help you in any way possible. She is by far my favorite teacher.

I took her for Business Calculus, and it is a pretty difficult subject itself. The tests are hard, and pretty heavily weighted so don't mess up too often. She does drop the lowest test grade, which is cool. Do the homework on My Math Lab, and MAKE 100% on ALL of them. You should be okay if you do that and do alright on the tests.

I loved Mrs. Kirk. She always has a candy bowl and would bring goodies like donuts to class. I pretty much learned all the stuff she taught in highschool so it was all review for me. There's little quizzes each class that are easy. If you do your homework and pay attention, you will do great. She is a very sweet lady.

Would not recommend, especially if math is your weakness. She is friendly, but does not explain herself very well. It was difficult getting the extra help from her. Class was also quite boring.

Mrs.Kirk was really nice! She explained the work, more than once. It's not an easy class, but she helps you in any way she can! The homework is online and there's unlimited tries on how many times you can do a problem to get it right. The test are the ONLY hard part of the course so STUDY! She also drops the lowest test, quiz, and some hw grades!

She really cares about what she teaches. You will have 4 Ch. Test and a Final. The homework is all done in my math lab and you have unlimited tries on it. You will also have 2 projects to do. They are relatively easy and she will tell you how to get an A if you go take it to her during office hours.

I enjoyed having her as an instructor. She will help you anyway she can. All homework is done online at mymathlab. That basically is free points if you complete the work. There are normally 5 test and the final. You are able to use notecards as well for each test and final with anything you have learned on them.

This was a difficult class for me. Had to attend every session to understand what we were doing. Homework very important, receive grade. Use MyMathLab for all homework. No review, or very limited review for tests. 4 unit tests & 1 final. get to use note card for each test w/formulas. Must have math calculator. Attendance important.

Used my math lab, but examples done in class don't really help with the questions on MML. Also no study guides for test are given. She says she gets her questions on the test from MML, but you will notice they ARE NOTHING like them! Not having a study guide doesn't help either. She does allow note cards for test, but they dont really help.

The material is hard if you do not take it right after college algebra. she lectures and goes slow which i do not like. i would prefer her to crank out a ton of examples during class to make sure i understand but that isnt how it is. do your hw for sure, that is an easy A. She will help anyone that is lost.
