Comment:

Took both micro and macroeconomics with her and loved it. Her way of teaching was such that even information I was unaware I was learning at the time, I retained. Her classes prepped me for continuing education at UCF and I loved her style. The short quizzes were great for recalling material recently learned and she was available for add'tl help.

Comment:

Professor Derrick gets SO behind throughout the semester because she rants about things completely unrelated to the content of this class. She also has VERY distracting public speaking habits, such as um and k and its hard to concentrate. She does give study guides that match the test exactly. Its an easy A but definitely a waste of time.

Ms. Derrick is a terrible teacher. She gets so off topic and talks about one bullet point for 45 minutes. The tangents usually have absolutely nothing with what you actually need to know. We tallied it once and she said "um" and "k" 700 times in one class. She gives you a study guide that is exactly like the tests. Grades essays very tough.

If you value your GPA and your academic career, DO NOT TAKE HER! She is negative, rude, and teaches by just blabbering about random things and reads off of the textbook powerpoint's. Doesn't care about students, respond to emails, or even post office hours. If you actually want to succeed in college, do yourself a favor and pick another teacher.

Worst teacher Ive had in college. Not helpful at all. Be ready to teach yourself. Do not take her if you dont like to get off topic. Will never take again. Didnt sign up for her as a teacher but other teacher left and got her, wish I would have switched.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever experienced. The lectures are way off topic and you are expected to teach yourself these concepts. Do NOT ask questions as she views it as a personal attack and you will be graded accordingly. Test almost every class. Talks down to students. You will not pass. Find another teacher, or will be kicking yourself.

Macroeconomics is a tough subject. Plan on lots of time for self-study. This class did not have the best set up. We needed much more time to discuss and comprehend the topics. Anytime we got off topic, we paid for it dearly when test time arrived. 4 tests + final. 4 or 5 quizzes. 4 journal assignments due before Exams.

Lots of lectures, but easy to understand. 4 tests, mostly definitions. Usually 3 extra credit questions. Small class sizes leave a lot of time for discussion and good case examples to help students understand topics.

Absolutely the worst teacher I have taken! Most of my classmates are failing her class including myself. She talks about her life, barely teaches, gets a month or two behind schedule. She says Um and K 200 times every class period and you will lose your mind. AVOID THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS!! The study guides are terrible, and material not on tests

Do not get her as a teacher. She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She takes too long in lectures and gets behind. Then she makes you do like 5 assignments at the end of the lectures. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!

Actually a really good professor, assignments may not count for anything, but she really tries to inform you about Government. Very insight and has many interesting stories, you won't need the book if you understand it. Very indecisive on course assignments, she's very busy and forgets many due dates for assignments. She's very friendly and sweet.

I've never felt the need to comment on any teacher, but this is well deserved. This class stressed me out beyond anything. She is very stiff, brutal and not helpful whatsoever. I came into the term with a positive attitude, and left with an F and a bad mentality for the next term. I'm begging you to reconsider this class. Most of us didn't pass.

The worst professor I have dealt with in my 2 years at EFSC. She is not helpful and does not engage the students. She also has some of the most distracting public speaking habits saying "um" and "k" about a hundred times each class. I would not recommend her to anyone.

She isn't the greatest teacher in the world.... perhaps the worst I've ever dealt with. She barely gets up from her desk, she literally talks the most of the lecture, zero help when preparing for papers or test, and isn't connected to Canvas like other professors.... I would not recommend her to anyone if you need this class.

I think she seems to know a lot about Economics and her tests and quizzes are not that tough as long as you study. She goes off topic quite a bit and her lectures are very long. When she does stay on topic I think she is easy to understand but she throws in a lot of personal stories that can leave you a little confused.
