I took her for Victorian lit, and got to class with a love of the literature. However, though she does know an immensity about Victorians, she does not want you to have your own opinions, apparently. She became visibly angry and scolded me because I didn't understand what the hell a browse and read report was. I'm still confused on it, honestly.

I took Dr. Early for my freshman composition course. It is very difficult to earn a good grade in her class if you take a position that she disagrees with. She also assigns an insane amount of reading. She once assigned 10,000 lines of poetry for one week's reading. To sum her class up, she taught us the philosophy of law, in a composition course.

Her class wasn't difficult, but you had a lot of literature to read. A lot of it was extremely difficult to understand. I enjoyed her one-on-one time, but it didn't help my grade in that class.

Dr. Early was a unique professor. She always walked in late, and it seemed like her lectures were sort of sloppy, but she REALLY knows alot about literature. She's not an easy teacher, she makes you work hard for your grade. If you are just taking lit to get it over with, she's not the professor for you.

These comments are so misleading. If you are not an English major and you are just trying to get Lit out of the way do not take her. She gets frustrated when you don't understand her interpretation of the work or have a differing opinion. She only allows you to voice her opinion on your test essay yet she views them as "a bad regurgitation of her own words" and makes it quite obvious that teaching 201 is the last thing she wants to be wasting her time on.

Boring classes. She stands there and talks about what we "read" the night before. I put that in quotes b/c there's no reason to read the material since she covers it in detail during class. Identifications on quizzes are pretty difficult. If you're a good writer, you can probably cruise through the essays. Best to regurgitate her opinions.

Come to class and you'll get an A. Use her words in your notes, answer the questions accordingly on the tests and you'll ace the class. I found her easy to listen to and quite fun if you give her a chance.

I loved her class she made it decently interesting, considering I hate Brit. Lit. She explains everything in detail and as long as you pay attention and take notes on her explanations in class you will love her test but remember use her interpretation and she will love it.

She seems to have knowledge of Victorian lit but there is an underlying meanness about her, an abusive side, that is apparent only when you're in private counsel with her. I would encourage prospective students to be very cautious.

I thought she was great, too. She will be straight with you if you have a problem, and if you're used to being coddled, you won't like that, but she's NEVER just mean. She cares about her students and doesn't want them to make the same mistakes over and over. She's also interesting, very smart, and funny. Talk to her and give her a chance.

Terrible!!!!! If she tells you to come in and talk to her, RUN!!! It will only be an opportunity for her to degrade and intimidate you. This could have and should have been a great class. Her quizzes are insane. She is unclear and what she wants and changes her mind as often as the wind blows.
