Comment:

She caters only to actorsdirectors and completely ignores the academic needs of any designers taking her REQUIRED classes. The final alone was to create an ENTIRE design, lights, scenic, set and costume for one show as well as do EVERYTHING the actors and directors had to do in less than a month. She insulted the technicians repeatedly. SO RUDE.

As a dual enrollment student: shes so sweet and understanding. She does ice breakers and loves her class. Shes open for party and sharing snacks during discussion. Shes very lenient on turning in cards, you just have to read. Theres lots of reading, almost a play a week. Class was fun and relaxing.

She is a very nice teacher, script analysis is a must take with her. Just read the plays not only for her but yourself. she dose not ask much of you in this class and grades easy she just want you to learn and be professional. It's o.k to think differently than her but you disagree with her give her ideas a though she know what she is doing.

I took her for acting and she was very helpful. Although Julia's methods may seem tough at first,she knows what she is doing and she is simply a very professional person and expects her theatre students to act as such. she has basically built the program from the bottom up and she deserves allot of respect for it.

I've always been a Loner but I've made so many awesome friends since I took Julie's Acting 2 Class. She is one of my Most favorite Professors at VCC now and she will Help you in whatever way she can.Not easy,if you disappoint her you feel like you've shamed your Grandma. The Books are entertaining and she expects you to do your work and show up.

Julia shows favoritism to students who form cliques. She becomes invasive to students personal lives with very biased and rude messages and calls about non academic subjects. Doesn't cast shows based on talent, but groups of friends instead, leaving talented students out of academic show experiences. Is NOT an acting coach whatsoever.

I was not a "favorite," not in any of her shows, and I passed the class with an A+. There's not enough room to write all the nice things about Julie. Great teacher, helpful, and interesting. Don't take the class if you can't/won't make the time to read entire plays in a day or two. If you can commit to it, take it: she's a really great professor.

Had her for both script analysis and directing. Not my fave theater professor at all. she plays favorites so unless you're one of the people she casts in her shows or someone who never has any opinions contradictory to hers I wouldn't suggest her. She is really rude and doesn't teach for anyone who thinks differently than her. AVOID her!

Ok. All of you people who write horrible things about Julie should go and rethink your ideas. Julie is a wonderful professor. I had her for Script Analysis and she made it so fun and interesting. She can get upset easily if she feels like she is being walked on. And she is an amazing director, no matter what anyone says about her.

I took her for Intro to Theatre and got an A. But she gives very smart/rude replies, just don't say anything or act up and try to stay out of her way to be on her good side. She makes assignments out of thin air with very blurry guidelines but then grades on what she wants to hear or see. Sometimes I really hated her cause the amount of bull cover

Everyone is giving her bad ratings but I think she was a great teacher. Script Analysis is a boring class, but it's one you have to have if you are a theatre major. Reading definitely required and the discussions are a great part of the class. She will give you good grades as long as you are making an effort and showing insight.

I friggin hate this woman. She's just a pain in the ass, and doesn't help at all. God help you if she has a vendetta against you, which is easy to get. Just wear the wrong thing, say the wrong thing, and you're f'd. She tries to act like she's all nice to everyone and likes everyone, but it's just a ruse. And furthermore, she should NOT BE AN ACTING TEACHER. For god's sakes, people, she's a terrible acting teacher. A directing teacher, maybe, but not acting.

I've had several acting teachers, and this class was a joke. She didn't actually teach anything the whole semester, just let everyone work on their own. She focuses on the business, not the acting. Head-shots, resumes- but not beats or blocking or anything practical. I was really disappointed.

Julia,is a great teacher because she helps you think about all the aspects of acting.I have gained an immense amount of knowledge from her classes. She might be hard sometimes but that is because she has the gull to tell you the truth. So don't cry about it,just work on it. Take every chance you get to act serious and she will respect you for that.
