Dr. Laval is a great professor. I was nervous to take her class after reading reviews. She's tough and she is very frank. Do the work and try and you will pass her class. She doesn't mince words. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter. Don't shy away from her class it's easier than you think if you just try. Fedeli was harder.

I was always told that Laval was one of the worst teachers to take at KSU. I decided to take her class anyways, and I did NOT like her at first. But I really did learn a lot in her class and she is a great teacher. She is very serious but she jokes around, and likes you if you participate in class and do the work, so suck it up and take her class!

Dr. Laval is by far one of the worse professors at Kennesaw. If she doesn't like you, she makes it VERY CLEAR & there is no way you can change it. She is very vague on everything esp. test so unless you just know ALL of the stories like the back of your hand, you are SOL. She's very tricky & it's hard to tell when she's not serious. Don't take her!

You know, all of my friends told me to never take Laval, so I never did until I had to. I regret that now because she is a really great professor. As long as you're interested in Spanish language and culture and you're a good student, you will get along just fine.

It's all good unless she doesn't like you. And best believe, you're gonna KNOW if she doesn't. She told a few students to change their majors a semester before graduation just because she didn't feel like they would pass her classes. Didn't offer absolutely ANY help. But you do learn a lot and you know what to expect on the tests.

Was one of the hardest teachers I have ever had. If she does not like you, she has no problem belittling you in front of everyone. Did not do well in her class, and I do not look forward to seeing her again for 3305, I read everything and took notes and still not do well on her tests.

She does not favor native speakers she favors anyone that shows interest and prepardness in class! she will discuss the stories read and make it fun.

Challenging teacher. Difficult exams. Fast-paced class, requires you to practice a loud in class. Felt left behind because my class had a number of native speakers and students with many years of Spanish, I don't know why they were allowed into an intro class, albeit with medical focus.

She is a hard teacher, she comes off very mean, but isn't so bad. She does favor native speakers VERY OBVIOSULY in class. It was like why are we here if you only talk to the natives? Test are easy, but she's hard to follow to learn information to do good on test! Be PREPARED or she will embarrass you!

Spanish for Medical Professionals: Do NOT take unless you have already taken 1-2 spanish classes and it remains fresh in the mind. I felt bad for the ppl. in the class who had never taken spanish before because that was the language spoke in class!! If you speak some spanish already you should do fine if you do ALL of your work well.

Very by the book and organized (not a typical Spanish professor). Her tests are somewhat hard but classes are fun and you learn a lot. I really enjoyed her class...she seems to weed people out to enjoy a smaller class...don't let her intimidate you out...her bark is worse than her bite!
