Totally revamped his class after feedback from students. It was amazing, I loved this class. Was my favorite class that quarter definitely. Does hurt that I also got an A :) !!!!

The first midterm was easy, the second one not so much and the final was rather straightforward. He teaches more theory than anything else so I really didn't learn much but still got my A so whatever I guess.

First midterm was easy, second a little tough and the final was straightforward. He provided 2 of his previous finals and 5 out of the 8 questions that were on those previous finals showed up on he new one. So to study for the final, re-do the hw for the first half of the course and then do his previous finals and you should be good. Decent curve!

Prof. Roberts is a nice guy and I wanted to like him, but his lectures are just really confusing and hard to follow. I learned more during discussion than actual lecture.

Easily the worst professor I have ever had. Lectures were completely useless as he rushed through all the material yet was still was unable to cover everything properly. The Second of the class gets hard quickly and without proper lectures to solidify the material the course became extremely more challenging.

Really an amazing class taught by a great professor. The first half of the class is all knot theory while the second half is more traditional topology (manifolds, euler characteristic, etc.). He makes his own "knotes" which are well written. The instructor moves fast but he's really helpful in office hours and is a really cool guy to talk to.

Prof. Roberts is a pretty clear lecturer, although he speaks very quickly. The exams are extremely predictable, and section is not mandatory but helpful. He's a cool guy and was super helpful/nice when I asked for a letter of rec.

Lectures consist of mostly examples, so if you are the type of student who needs clear step by step instruction, Roberts is not the professor for you. I feel like he speaks to quickly, and does not pause to make sure the whole class understands what he is talking about. Average teacher.

Comment:

Allows you to use a note sheet for both of the mid terms and the final, but so do the other 10a professors. No curve, and the lectures are pointless. I got an A only because i wrote good note sheets and attended my TA's office hours. Dont take this professor if you struggle with math prior to 10a.
