She hated my writing. Tore into all of my papers and was sometimes condescending about the fact that we're first year students and need a bit more direction that upperclassmen. She's a nice person but I never felt confident in any of the writing I turned in because it was never good enough.

Even if I was still at Simmons I would never take another one of her classes. She singles students out for pointless things in class, tries too hard to be politically correct (to the point that it takes away from class time), and there's a necessary group project in this class. She gave me a very hard time about having to miss class.

This was my first sociology class and I wasn't exactly sure what it would be like. But the readings and lectures were all really interesting. She always listened to our feedback and ideas and was willing to alter the assignments for us. No tests, just a few papers. If your writing skills are decent you should have no problem getting an A.

Jyoti is a great professor. She always has thought provoking questions that make you think. Her lectures are long and you definitely have to participate. She pays attention to how much you add to class discussion and it is apart of the grade. She is definitely full of knowledge that she is willing to share. Helpful to all students.

Jyoti is a wonderful professor, and gives good feedback to you on assignments. She always validates your thoughts in class if you participate. She is big on participation, and wants to hear what you think. The writing assignments are all interesting, and the readings are all super-relevant to the class. I would definitely recommend this class!

Jyoti is a wonderful professor. She's very sensitive to her students' needs and genuinely cares about them. She always works hard to make classes interesting and engage students in conversation. I recommend taking a class with her whether you're a sociology major or not.

I loved Jyoti's class. She genuinely cares about her students and encourages discussion, always trying to energize us and see where we were at in the material. If she feels that the class is disinterested, she works hard to make the class more engaging. She enjoys students who participate and show that they are trying hard. Awesome professor!

Jyoti is simply amazing. She is such a caring and thoughtful professor. She always asked how we were doing personally. She really cares about her students. She does expect a lot as far as writing assignments go, but she is more than willing to help anyone in need. I really wish I could have her again, but I'm not a sociology major.

Jyoti is one of the best professors I've had at Simmons, she engages the class in discussion and keeps everything very interesting. She also is very clear about her assignments and frequently makes sure everyone is doing okay with understanding the assingment. When I went to see her she was very helpful.
