Most financially wasteful class I've taken at Albion. Required to buy $200 software (similar to Rosetta Stone,) so think of it as an online class with a redundant attendance grade. The class drags on, and Kalen finds a way to fill every minute, sometimes even going over. Do not take a class with Kalen if you can't tolerate people wasting your time.

Do not take him for 301 or creative writing. He gives you ridiculous quizzes after barely explaining the material. In creative writing he basically writes everything for you and marks you down for not writing exactly what he wants. Worst Spanish classes I've taken.

Do NOT take a creative writing class with him. He forces you to write specific things. That's not how a CW class works. If you don't do EXACTLY what he wants, he says it's wrong. He's awful.

He assigns a ridiculous amount of homework. It's like he thinks that his class is the only one we have homework in. He makes you feel horrible when you get something wrong, and is a really harsh grader. He expects us to know everything he is teaching, which is stupid because we don't even have a real textbook.
