Comment:

Despite his world knowledge and accomplishments this teacher was extremely rude and condescending. Although the work load was fairly easy, he was late all the time, very disorganized, and he would flat out call you stupid. There was a slightly autistic student in my class whom he would openly mock and pick on. I would not recommend Prof Ray at all.

He makes you read the book he wrote and then some very cultural books. He is very brilliant but has no clear grading fashion at all. The only assignments I received was reading then write an in class essay based on the book prompt given which is the only grades you will receive.

I took Eng. Comp. 1 with him and he was so annoying. He barely talked about the stories we read. The only good part of his class was when he called one of the kids Daniel Radcliffe.

THE MAN. Great professor. Really interesting guy, very deep, very intelligent. We got along well. If you enjoy English and have half a brain in your head, you'll like his class too. He's a stickler for attendance, just don't show up late. Show him respect and he'll give it back. Easily my favorite professor at CCM.

I really like him. Had him for English Classics. He's tough but he's so knowledgeable. He knows a lot about literature. Sometimes goes off topic but you learn something new every class. I had to work hard but, it's college, right? Just do the work, make an effort and you should get at least a B, if not an A.

Took Comp. I & II w/Dr. Ray in 1985-86. I still remember watching Charlie Chaplin silent movies in class and writing about them! One of my most memorable professors. Years later, he helped me get my first teaching job. Thank you so much for everything, Dr. Ray!

Had him 4 english classics. Worse mistake of my life!! The most unprepared teacher i ever met. Didnt give us a syllabus til the last month Of the sem. Refused 2 answer any of the students questions bout stories we read, made us buy books that werent even on the syllabus. And constantly critize students wen they ask ques. Dont know wat i was think.

Wow he is so RUDE!!! Ive seen him embarass so many students and call them idiots or not smart. Even girls, he doesnt care. Hes always talking about his trips and traveling and random history. Its more like a History Literature class. He doesnt use the textbook just papers he brings in. His midterms and finals are easy, just essays.

He's probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. I can't understand why anyone could give him a good grade on this site. He was rude and condescending to the entire class. He talked mostly about his travels and how great he is at writing. When grading the essays, I feel he picked a grade out of thin air and his grading style made no sense.
