had her for business writing 1, not sure if i learned anything from her class. when handing in class assignments she wants it done her way. tries to be funny but that usually results in the entire class staring at her awkwardly. leaves class randomly at the beginning of the class. just do things the way she likes it and you'll pass.

If you show up and get to know her she will take the time to help you. Gives second opportunities to hand items in if you do poorly. Uses MindTap exercises which teach a lot of the course information.

I find that Bishop has improved her teaching style recently and loosened up on the expectations of assignments. They used to be marked in an all or nothing fashion but she now awards part marks and is more lenient.

What she teaches in class, posts on D2L, is in the textbook and is in grammar a la carte are 4 entirely different things, so you have no idea where you studying should be focused. Also teaches the same thing 3 times over, and doesn't teach other concepts because she forgets what she's taught you. Changes her mind about assignments, be careful!!!

She's a decent prof, will gladly help you on in class assignments and papers. She seems like a genuinely nice person and willing to help students. However, she NEEDS to get a TA. Tons of students cheated on the exam because she couldn't see them, which was angering to us who actually studied. Her marking isn't hard as long as you follow instruction

Looks like she reads these comments. Second time I've had this prof and she has improved greatly. No longer treats the students like kids, and has gotten just much better overall to the point I'd actually recommend her. Easy class.

I LOVE HER!! Karen is an amazing person. Just need to do the assignments she assigns at the end of class. Don't show up just email her or as a friend and put it in the drop box. I just love Karen Bishop!!

She's funny and very kind. Very helpful for writing our term paper. Will meet with you after class to help you out or help in class. Some people complained a lot about her but if you applied yourself and went to class, you were fine. If you having her for Business Writing go to class - she will help A LOT with weekly assignments.

Probably the worst prof I've ever had. She gives you quizzes at the beginning of the class on stuff you haven't learned, and your mark on the quizzes counts as your attendance mark. She'll also yell at you if you question anything she does. She's also extremely biased against men, so you better hope your a woman.

For an English professor, I expected a lot more out of her class. She is very wishy-washy, and is normally unprepared for class. She marks papers with random numbers and is not helpful when approached.

Karen does NOT mark guys down based on gender. That is just a load of hearsay if you ask me. She is fair.. If you show up to class, she will help you out. Her marking system is a little tough at times, but it not a creative writing course. Overall, a very good prof.

I LOVED HER! She was a great teacher. I read these comments and was scared esspecially since im a guy. If you show her respect she gives it in return. You dont have to suck up, just dont be an ass and ur good. Shes a good teacher and will pretty much give you the answers. And its all group work in the class so make sure you sit with friends.

I hate this lady more then anything. Furthermore, Her husband takes business classes for fun and looks like a homeless man. If you're a guy taking this class work with girls or else you won't get a good mark. Apparently, writing memos is worth 2 half credits at LU.

Comment:

One of the best BUSI profs so far. Her courses are easy, no hard requirements. Know how to write, get decent grades. Know how to write very very good, get excellent grades. She can be very understanding and flexible. Just don't talk in her classes while she's instructing.
