Had her Fall 11'. She can be intimidating at first, but stay on her good side for a good grade! I recommend finding an artist you would like to imitate or styles you would like to imitate. makes class easier.

Karen is a fabulous darkroom teacher. She knows a boatload of stuff and loves sharing it with her students. Slackers need not sign up with her. She can sense laziness from a mile away and will treat you with something close to contempt. Great instructor. I highly recommend her.

You REALLY need to try hard. Not forgiving at all of personal circumstance. Tough love can come off as pure meanness. I found her slightly intimidating. I learned a lot. If you have a tough teacher, you'll either come out on the other end with a broken ego or thick skin. My ego is just fine.

AMAZING TEACHER. She's really tough and does not accept laziness though. Be prepared to work and show her that you know what you're doing. She's extremely helpful in showing you how to make your work better, but, again, she makes you work for it. She emphasizes application, which is helpful towards other aspects of photography (not just darkroom).

Great teacher, can teach you a lot. Changes the whole way you shoot/develop/print. The final sounds interesting to shoot. As a person, she is kind of a pretentious, frigid woman. Don't expect her to hold your hand.

Excellent teacher. Focuses on Film and developer combinations, getting the correct exposure, metering, and the last days of class you also learn toning and print on different papers. For final you choose an object and shoot it in different ways (cooler than it sounds). Don't ever be late/miss her class unless you inform her first. Amazing woman!

LOVED KAREN! She is a very tuff amazing teacher. She knows everything about printing. I liked her because she wasn't afraid to criticize your prints, and help you build on what you can do to make them better. When you finally did get her approval, GOD the feeling was amazing. ONLY DOWNFALL you will need TONS of paper. LOVE HER.

VERY serious photo teacher who knows her stuff. She's strict and the class isn't easy, but if you don't get intimidated by her you can learn a lot. Her darkroom class focuses mostly on learning how to test different films and developers.
