Lectures are mandatory yet very little is learned in-class. I took the 11:20-2:10 class and at no point did we review assignments or readings. She gives little in class support on the 20 page research paper unless you go to her directly. She rambles about her personal life and complains about having to grade the assignments she gives.

One of the weirdest classes I have ever taken. Content is stuff that everyone in the class will already know so class time is filled with unrelated debates instead of learning. She kept switching what the grading break down was - started with 2 exams and homework ended up with no homework, 1 exam and a bunch of quizzes. Super opinionated prof

She was a very nice professor, however lectures are usually pointless. There is some political discussion but topic always returns to abortion and gay marriage, which has nothing to do with the exam. It is very difficult to get useful information out of the lectures, and she is a tough grader. Her TA was very helpful, though.

I really like this professor, actually, I m a international student and this is my first semester in AU. Everything are strange for me, but when I faced some problems in this class, the professor always so nice and help me pass this class. Love you, my professor.

This class was actually a joke, and honestly, it made me hate my major. I didn't learn anything and she was completely unprofessional all the time. Nothing said in class was relevant to the tests and she didn't tell you what would be on it, so it was basically luck if you did well. Take this class if you're ready to fail.

Incredibly insulting and condescending. Yelled at a student for calling her "Mrs." yet called another student a "retard" a month later for not knowing how to stamp an envelope. If she weren't the tenured head of her department, she would've been fired years ago.

She's an incredible person, an amazing teacher, and a genius... but her lectures (while awesome) are useless for the tests and she grades hard. Her class was the highlight of my Wednesday because she is so cool, but know that you HAVE to study the text book because the info she gives you is useless.

Maybe it is because it's a lecture but I have had the worst experience with her and this class. I love US politics but she made this class horrible. Unclear, unhelpful, always complains about random personal issues, talked about buying a new laptop during our midterm. If it's a lecture with O'Connor I do not recommend it. I'm very disappointed.

Prof. O'Connor is prolly the best professor I've had so far.After hearing horrible things about Politics in the US classes here at AU I was really hesitant about taking it, but im glad i did. She wrote the textbook and is incredibly intelligent. I definitly enjoyed coming to class everyday.

Worst lecturer I've ever had at AU; likes to talk about her money, her multiple houses, tenure status, WAPI (I used to attend events, but not after being in the founders class) or just random obnoxious comments in regards to political leaders. Too judicially oriented. Shouldn't be allowed to teach a lecture course, or any course for that matter.

Honors section was awesome. She knows her stuff - but she knows that, so she talks down to you and name drops. However, she is brilliant and well connected to all political happenings in DC. Class was all discussion. You leave class with a lot to think about and no facts to memorize. no tests, all papers (with rewrites!). Great teacher.
