I love her. Strict on MLA format but it's really not that hard to adjust to it. She lets you pick what to write about other than other English classes. She's very funny and wants everyone to pass. Her office hours are very helpful and she gives great advice to help with your writers block or mistakes.

I love Karen. She is by far the funniest professor I've had here. The class is super easy, but you absolutely have to attend EVERY class. If you miss one day and it happens to be a group project day you lose 50 points with no ability to make it up. However, sometimes she'll just say the weather's nice, get out of here. I recommend her.

Very tough grader. The class its self is relatively easy, you just have to read what you're supposed to. She quizzes you on what you read and you have to write one paper and do 2 Group projects. However the paper and group projects are graded incredibly difficult witch I didn't think was necessary seeing how this is a gen-ed but overall she's ok.

She comes off as strict at the beginning of the semester but loosens up a little as time progresses. However, she does enforce lateness and participation. A lot of in class discussions based on the readings, which can all be found online so do not buy the book. Quizzes after each story and she can tell if you read so make sure you read!

Expected to read a novel a week, which is ridiculous to me, I do not have the time. (Most are on sparknotes) Quizzes every class on your readings. Group Project was not difficult, but I find group projects rather annoying. Rayne seems harsh in class but during office hours was very easy going. I put minimal effort and still received an A.

Ok so I was conflicted on how to rate Mrs. Rayne. In a personable way she is great. But in a teacher way I found it hard to be in the class. She is extremely strict on the little things and it makes it very hard. I am someone who doesn't like to quit something but she made it very hard for me to stick to the class.

Mrs. Rayne does a nice job at trying to only have her students do the work if it benefits them. The problem with Mrs. Rayne's grading is that she only grades her RWL's and RR's for format and not for content. So you may think you're doing really well because you're getting 100's on all the papers until you submit your first major paper and bomb it.

She definitely tries to be intimidating at first, but as the semester progresses she becomes very chill. All she cares about on any of her assignments is MLA format, so make sure you are 100% correct on everything or you will automatically fail. Class is not too hard and she has office hours to look over your papers.

Got 100% on all the RR's and RWL's that we have to write everyday for HW. Never missed class. She gave me automatic failures on the 3 big writing assignments. The first one bc I had too many sources,The second one bc I was 3 lines short of "6 full pages", and the third one bc apparently I was late to class. she said she wouldnt discuss it w me.

As an english major, I was excited for the class. I was pretty disappointed. It felt like a basic high school class and I didn't get much out of it. She wants things a certain way,and is kind of lazy about it. She only read half of my essay cause she didnt feel like reading the rest. Likes Freshemn research classes more than literature classes.

She's a very clear professor, everything is spelled out in the syllabus and she sticks by it. Very intriguing and makes class entertaining to go to, no going to class will kill you because of all the reading quizzes.

She is a great professor! You have to read 8 novels which is tedious work. The quizes are pretty easy but the papers are hard. I couldn't get above a 83% on the papers but got a 100% on all the quizes. The final project isn't too bad and the final is pretty cool. I enjoyed her and got an A (90%). I would recommend her because she is so funny.

She is strict, but fair. Honestly, as long as you do what is expected of you, hand things in on time, and have a respectable knowledge of how to write decent papers, you'll be fine. She is a good teacher, take her if you have the option. And if that does nothing for you, she lets you out of class somewhat early about 85% of the time.
