Irish Literature- Not a bad teacher. Head of the English department, so she is a tough grader. I got an A+, but worked my butt off to get it. The quizzes are usually open-book, but you should actually read the assigned readings thoroughly before class and you'll be fine. Research papers are tough, but it was a good class overall.

Worst teacher I've ever had in my entire life. She hated certain students and it was very obvious. I ended up with an 89 and she wouldn't change my grade because she didn't like me... Took off 10 points from my final essay for being "loud and disruptive in class".

She is a very hard grader and does not give out A's unless she thinks you deserve it. I've gotten 89s on every essay. Little time to read the books, max of 1 week to read. Grade is 2 individual essays, 1 group essay, inclass assignments, final video project (each worth 20%). Calls people out in class daily. Not recommended.

Had the potential to be fun, but she is not a very objective grader. Some of us felt like our grades were based on her mood at the time. In class group work felt like a waste of time, just more work than was needed. Also, she is obsessed with grammar. Don't look at your cell phone she will freak out and kick you out of class. DO NOT TAKE HER!

She is very smart, but expects all of her students are on the same intelligence level as her. A hard grader. lots of in class group work. You are not given much time to read entire books. 3 essays, one being a partner one. No final, but instead there is a partner digital video project. interesting class, but lots of reading and she has high expectations from her students.

I don't like Dr. Steele. WOST can be an interesting subject but she just makes it bad. She lies. She made comments that the staff at TCU is **** and that TCU carries its own STD! What does that mean!? She said this and I started not believing a word they said. I wouldn't recommend this class. Essays are also impossible

Dr. Steele is a very hard professor. Unless you have serious interest in women's studies, I don't recommend this class. It's a hard class overall and Dr. Steele just makes it more difficult than it has to be. I don't like her or the other professor but I also don't like the subject material. Very knowledgable and interesting professor. By no means are her courses easy, but you will learn a ton and the subject material is very interesting. She tends to treat her class like it is the only one that exists, but it is still manageable. She is always available to help and is a GREAT professor.

Not what I expected...it's all about Irish drama. BUT it's not that bad. So what if you have to read? Gog forbid we read in college! Anyway, the readings are easy and some of them are not that long either. There are only like 2 that are arounf 100 pages. The tests are easy because they are just like the reviews she gives. London Sem: Sounds like an easy class, but don't be fooled. DO NOT get behind in the readings (expect many reading quizzes), because the essay grades will NOT save you. She told me I was one of the best writers in the class, but I only received an A on one essay. RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING ESSAYS.

NOT what I expected. She is really big into Irish Drama and Ireland. You have to read one play a week and there are weekly quizzes. Must do the readings to get a decent score on the tests. Do not take this class if you don't have a lot of free time to read the plays.
