Comment:

I had her for my Fundamentals Math 3 class. I did not like her at all because she was really all over the place when it came to teaching the material. When it came to teaching the material she would do too many examples that were not really necessary. Also, she would wait to give us our quizzes until after we have learned the material that day.

Nice lady, I had her for fundamentals 5 her class was a chore.. do the homework, all of it and do it correctly. while teaching she writes too fast and the class fixes her mistakes. She scribbles all over the board and never erases the previous problem. She will ask if the students have questions but just tells you to look at the book.

She means well, but fails to properly teach students. She treats students like they're in elementary school. Her teaching style is very annoying, and never looks at the students, rarely asks if anyone has questions, and basically gets her point across by scribbling on the board and confusingly questions her own work. I could go on if more room.

Comment:

Mrs. Stein is the best teacher in the developmental math program at Akron. She really cares about her students and if theyre understanding the material or not. She let us do take home quizzes and practice tests every so often which really helped my grade. Dont take any other teacher if you have to take fundamental math classes, trust me!

Karen actually cares for the students, her main goal is for you to pass and have the basic understanding for Fund Math 4. When given homework do it, study for quiz and test! Overall, a great class and teacher

She is definetely a teacher that you have to get used to. Sometimes she can come across as overbearing and there are times when she was really rude to some students. But I think she really does care about her students and their passing of the class. I would recommend taking the class with her.

I found her quite difficult to deal with. She's self-righteous. Just when I would begin to think highly of her she would do something completely negative to a student again. She is the worst teacher I've had in college.

At the very least one can say she means well. It's nice that she tries so hard but in doing so she makes you feel like your back in elementary school. It's sad, degrading, and just a plain boring class. I learned nothing new... BTW, she's bad at catching sleepers. I sleep about 70% of the time and still beat the other people in the class!
