I gave a great speech but since my outline wasn't perfect, I got a 60. You can't take notes in class because she rambles and makes no sense what so ever. She gives more scantron test's then speeches which is pointless for a SPEECH class. not helpful at all, i'll most likely have to retake speech.

I honestly felt that this class was a waist of my time. The grades on the speeches are based more on how the outline is formatted rather than how the speech is presented. When I questioned her about my grade she immediately insulted my maturity level instead of understanding that college is a place to ask questions. Avoid at all costs!

OHhh Sergel Sergel Sergel. This class has got to be one of the most entertaining classes ive ever been in. Not because the course itself is interesting but because of the Jerry Springer worthy arguments between her and some of the other students. Its not a hard class but you have to really suck up to her and become one of her favorites to get an A.

I absolutely detest this teacher. I gave a speech and spoke better than others in the class that day, because i knew my stuff, however she hammered me for not having an outline. This woman cares more about the outline than the actual speech delivery. if the outline is not how she likes it she hits you hard with all sorts of deductions. stay away

Poor professor would not recommend her she gives us three speeches and she takes a lot of points off if you do the outline speech wrong. Not really the best professor she does lectures here and there. I would not recommend her plus she is nice nasty she comes off being nice but she goes through her moments.

this professor was probably the most rediculous grader i have ever had. she came off nice, but she really isn't. she went the whole semester not realizing she gave us the wrong syllabus, so for a whole semester we were following the wrong dates. if you are not a perfect public speaker i would not reccomend her. i learned nothing and she was no help

Absolutely horrible. Barely followed the syllabus, grading was absurd and the reason for a grade was often indeterminable or vague. Incredibly unhelpful even if you ask her personally. Did nothing in class. No notes. No lesson plan. We learned nothing. Didn't follow the book. I think if she gave an effort she could be decent but she just doesn't.

The worst professor in the world. She doesn't teach she sits at her desk and pay her bills. Depends on students to teach other students in her class. She doesn't really explain the assignments takes points of for everything you do. Criticize every speech you do. Her voice his annoying. Only take her if you have too. She will fail you for anything.

Sergel is absolutely terrible. Unclear, incomprehensible. The woman has no clue how to teach. If there is any possible way to avoid taking her class, then try and do so. She is out of her mind, and completely clueless.... the worst professor I have ever had in my life.

This was a frustrating, confusing class. She is a nice person and is willing to help. If you want to succeed ask her to read your paper before its due and make all changes she says to. She always let out very early b/c she was tired. It's a shame that she's the only one who teaches two of the core courses when no other profs teach 2 core courses.

This woman is completely useless and incomprehensible. She is an awful teacher. She is not helpful. Nobody knows what she is talking about. She tries to make friends with students so they aren't hard on her for not teaching. She plays this "poor me" card so everyone feels bad for her. Fact is, she simply doesn't do her job. She needs to retire.

Get ready because its like having class with the devil. find someone else you know who had the class because without them and their help, you wont have a clue what to do bc she NEVER teaches. shes a joke, never explains anything, and then when you do what she says you still FAIL. ITS AWFUL!

intro to speech- only 3 speeches all year and a vocab test for a final so pretty easy- but class is useless and unrelated- but shes a stickler for attendance AND participation. Follow her grading sheet EXACTLY even if it makes your speech sound ridiculous. if you dont mind more work, take somone funner
