Contemporary Africa is a very interesting and engaging course. I highly recommend taking this online course with Professor Johnson as they way he sets up the material allows for a lot of learning in a 5 week period.

This was a hybrid course done over the summer. Did not carefully explain the way online participation works when going over the syllabus. His instructions for everything are full of spelling and grammar errors. His lectures are useless: 12 minutes of every 2.5 hours of lecture were useful, the rest of the time he spent rambling.

Easy class to pass. Just do all the essays. He accepts late papers and even gives partial credit to essays not turned it. You don't have to attend every class, but you should go at least twice a week. There's a sign in sheet and you can come in late.

I would take Karl for every class given the opportunity. I took him for an online class and you get weekly forum posts. A 5-7 page midterm paper. And a final 10-12 page reasearch paper. This is the second class ive taken with karl and I love him.

I took Johnson for Intro to US 101 and it was pretty easy. He has a very monotone voice, and his lectures were boring. But there wasn't much work, I read only once I figured out what was essential to the assignments. Nice guy, but I really didn't learn much from his lectures. Also, you have to buy a few textbooks, and the main one is a lot of $.

Professor Johnson is a good guy. Tries to make you laugh. But everyday is a lecture and I just zone out. It is hard to pay attention. To be honest you don't even need too. All of his assignments (all papers) are based on readings you had to do. He doesn't really teach much in class.

If you actually want a professor that is going to teach you then don't take Johnson. He is a very smart man, but unbelievably boring. He will put you to sleep and will go off on tangents for things that don't actually matter. This could be a much more interesting subject than he is making it. If anyone else is teaching the class take it with them.

Prof. Johnson is very nice and cares about his students. The syllabus is very clear and there are not too many assignments for his class. However, it is important that a student puts a lot of effort in on the assignments given in order to pass with a good grade. Make sure to read passages (even if it means skimming) it is needed for assignments.

Terrible professor. In a class of all first year students, he put a lot of pressure on us, including "exams", a "midterm" and final where we had to watch a video online and submit a "short" 8-10 page paper within three days. Although I never got above a B in the class, I got an A- for the effort I put in compared to my classmates.

This was an Afri Amer History course over winter break and the work of 3 months is compounded into 1 month, so every 3 days we submit a blog based on the readings and there is a midterm and final. You don't have to read all the textbook readings, but definitely go over the links, PowerPoints, and videos he posts. He's so helpful!

He's so easygoing! For your blogs, it does take a bit of time over the weekend, but he's pretty chill on work during the week. A bit of reading to do, but it's not too challenging. He's nice, and he really knows his stuff! Not easy to get an A, but he mostly gives B's. I'm even going to take another course of his online. He rocks.

His online class is unbelievably difficult. He piles on assignment after assignment without warning, on the weekend, no less, and gives you zero time to do them (3 days for a 3-page paper). You're not allowed to talk with other students about assignments AT ALL. It's very much a sink or swim course and incredibly stressful. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Very laid back guy, he's nice too. All of the work was online and he was a lenient grader. Hard to get an A but also hard to get a C. Bs are easy to get. Lectures a lot, but overall cool dude. I'd take him for a GenEd. He's pretty funny.

Johnson's nice, but a pretty mundane, straightforward guy. He shows a lot of documentaries, and gives minimal work. 2 blog entries and a take-home final and midterm. He looks for textbook references in your work, so you have to do at least a couple of the readings. If you want a professor with little class interaction, this is the guy for you.

I took him for intro to hist 1 and this professor is your average boring college professor. He doesn't give tests and all your grades are based on papers. No matter how hard I try, I can only seem to get a B. Don't expect an A. I wouldn't recommend him even though it's easy to get a B. Class is boring
