Took this class online. Directions aren't clear. Really tough grader. When I asked for directions she just said to reread the syllabus. She picks apart all of your assignments and tells you what you did wrong but acts like you should know the information

Shes only has two writing assignments, a midterm and a final. She grades harshly and her tests are really hard. Pick someone else!!!!

I mean I didn't even have to work awfully hard; all I did was follower her directions, read all her rubrics and grading criteria, and watch the movies and use the textbook to answer questions. I think you must brush up on your writing usage and vocabulary to get a decent grade in Professor Stokes class. She isn't a touch grader at all!

I still do not understand why everyone is rating Professor Stokes so low. I think everyone here is still stick in that "high school" mentality. I found her class very very very doable. You must write her paper assignment using college level vocabulary, and you must also use standard English. I like her very much, she is wonderful. :)

I don't know why a lot of people are giving Professor Stokes a bad rating. I just got a 24/25 on my writing assignment... I think you just have to the work and follow directions, otherwise you will not succeed in her class...

I read the reviews and was literally terrified to take this class but it was the only humanities elective available for summer B. I thought she was going to be a super tough grader but I got 100 on both of my writing assignments. Tests are hard. Only 4 chances to pass (2 writing assignments/2 exams) honestly if I can pass, anyone can.

Dr. Stokes doesn't seem to care about her students. She will talk down to you and make you feel dumb. She expects way too much from you and if your paper isn't perfect you automatically get a C. Don't even try submitting an assignment late.. she will pull out her GIANT syllabus and make you feel stupid.

I loved this online class! You have to be genuinely interested in the subject to actually do well and not feel like its a major chore. Her assignments (20 questions) for the chapters take a ridiculously long time to complete if you're doing a good job, but you only have 4 assignments and 2 tests. Both categories are weighted 50%. Super easy.

Had her for Latin American Hum in the 90s; Foreign Cinema last year! Responds massively and favorably to you if you show genuine interest and display extra interest. Not brown-nosing... real interest. She's doesn't go out of her way to make you interested, but if you are and you do the work it's a cake A. Gotta read on your own.

Her expectations are so high, but her emails seem to be written at a sixth grader's level. Do as I say, not as I do. AVOID this class at all costs! She is one of those professors that does enough to earn her paycheck and that's it. If you don't have time for you online students then don't say you do. Let someone who cares do it.

I had Lisa Stokes for HUM2590 (20th and 21st Century Humanities & Technology) back sometime between 2000 & 2003. I just truly loved the course itself, the material and having her as a teacher!!! One of the few courses that I loved taking at Seminole CC and one of the few that I actually still cared to remember!!! Great course & professor!!!

Stokes is teaching is crazy. She is not clear what so ever, and does grade tough. But I did not think the exams were that hard if you read the book. It's a miracle I barely passed her class!

She was awful. She is confusing, any questions you have she will have a response saying read the course description for example. I WOULD NOT TAKE AGAIN! She isn't helpful, strict, even for an online course and also don't forget your class number or she will delete the email. She even spelled my name wrong,what teacher spells does that?!

She is very rude. If you miss a deadline you have documentation she does not care at all. She will literally drop you from her course and suggest you retake her course. She is heartless and full of herself. In her emails her grammar is horrible. I would be embarrassed if I was her. She doesn't even teach. She is in it for your money.

She grades harshly and doesn't really have anything nice to say, also when she responds to something or provides feedback... her spelling and grammar is horrible. Easy class if you can deal with a mean teacher. The teacher is so rude, thinks VERY highly of herself and is a huge snob. Watch your dates because she will have no mercy on you if you miss deadlines. She is very very rude. But the class is easy and the workload is very low. Only like 2 papers and some quizzes for the whole class.
