His short answer tests aren't too bad because he gives partial credit. Be careful to study for every test because if you bomb one then it's pretty much impossible to bring your grade back up. Wilson is actually a really nice guy and approachable so go to him if you have trouble understanding concepts.

Lectures are boring, but bearable. Protein purification: you only do an IEC in lab and much of the prep is done for you. This class is good for people that never had real lab experience. I also took 301 with him. Again lectures were Zzzz, but you learn a lot. Memorize the ppts thoroughly and do all the old tests. You will ace the class.

Don't bother with the textbook. Everything you'll need is out of his powerpoints which he does post online. Best way to study is to write out everything from the slides several times over. Tests are tricky as a great deal of correct detail is expected. He will adjust his grade boundries at the end of the semester. I had an 88 and got an A :)

HARD CLASS. His tests are all short essay format and he does give partial credit but expects you to give A LOT of detail. There is so much information to memorize and he does not emphasize what will be on the tests so it is hard to study. He is not a lenient grader at all.

He didn't seem to know what he was teaching. Kept coughing and it seemed he would cough whenever he didn't know something and had to "think" about it. Worst biology professor I ever had.
