Comment:
I majored in philosophy and went to higher education to get away from bubble tests. Kate gives THE MOST CONFUSING bubble tests. I love ancient philosophy, and did well when I retook it with Paul Neiman, but Kate Gill's class was not tailored to philosophical discussion and understanding. I do love her enthusiasm and passion though.

I really enjoyed this class. You will have to read and work hard, but most points are based on discussion topics you hand in everyday. She really makes you think. READ READ READ. Her test questions are straight from all of the packets, so take notes on them. Very nice lady. I didn't have to take the final since I did well on the tests.

I've never dealt with such a condescending professor. Asked for a letter of recommendation for a scholarship and she bashed me, calling me "disruptive, immature, and annoying". Because I ocassionally whispered very quietly to my close friends nearby. She expects too much of students for a 200 level class. I felt like I was back in High School.

She is super nice and makes it very easy to succeed in the class. You do a worksheet everyday but you get all the points just for doing it. Her tests are exactly what she goes over in class and the ch reviews on d2l. She drops one of your tests at the end and if you have a 92 ave its an automatic 100% on the final. She's great!

She is very good! the class is repetitive because you do work sheets everyday but she is a very fair grader and I found it very easy to get an A. If you get an avg. of 92% or higher on 7 tests you don't have to take the final which is pretty easy to do!

Pretty easy class. Do the work, read the articles, and write good papers and you'll be fine. She's very accommodating. Tests are difficult, even though she gives the questions before, but just memorize article answers word for word.

She is very nice and looks like she has a passion to help students. However, she is hard, especially her tests and she does not make any sense in her lectures. You do worksheets everyday in class and tests are worth 70% of your grade. If you are not good with tests beware!!!!

Do not take this class. I took it to fill my diversity requirement and I regret it completely. Although she is an easy grader on assignments there are alot of them and there are four rather time consuming research projects. The test suck, her muliple choice are ridiculous. Although she is a very sweet lady the homework load is excessive. Ugh.

A little hard to understand but an easy class. Do the worksheets and you get an easy 10 points. The tests are just like the worksheets so study them, but try to get a 92% average or higher on 7 out of 8 tests because the final is comprehensive and its tough. All in all though, I would recommend taking her! Pretty easy class.

I took this class last spring, and even after fall classes have just finished, this is still one of the only classes I've actually learned something that improves logical reasoning skills rather than just memorization. Very nice prof and great class to take. Focus on CEDAW is a bit too bureaucratic for a Phil class, however.

You do a worksheet every class thats worth 10 points. The tests are based off the worksheets. If you have a 92 average on 7 of the 8 tests you automatically get an A on the final. Pretty easy. I'd definitely take her.

Kate is a weird lady. She mumbles during class and talks to herself. She is very clear about assignments and worksheets though. Easy A if you do well on tests and study a lot. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. She posts all lecture notes on D2L and thats all you need. Study and you will do well in this class
