She was honestly the worse professor I have ever had. Was straight up mean to her students and kept talking for ALL of the class, when she expected us to finish in class assignments... would not recommend her unless you follow her "guidelines" 100% and have really good business writing skills already

She overloads her students while not giving the full story on the assignments. She belittles ESL students in front of the whole class. She's so disorganized it's unbelievable.

extremely disorganized and comes off as unprofessional. Refuses to give the syllabus until week 2, does not provide anything online. Lectures are very confusing and unstructured, assignments have little instruction and a difficult marker. Gives assignments and says they are "prep" for a report but wont give info on report. would never recommend.

Comment:

Shes more of a self help, alternative healing guru than a professor. She thoroughly enters a realm of mental and physical health improvement seminars. She emphasizes that goals are a burden and strategies are the sole key to successful writing, along with Self-awareness, conscious, free-will, and imagination.

I do not feel like she spent enough time in class going over material in the course content, instead she went over content from the self help books she wants you to use for your assignments. I do not feel set up for either business or academic writing.

By far the absolute worst professor ever, my class of 30 ended up being 13 people after just 2 classes because more than half the class dropped out. She is a crazy witch woman that should have stopped teaching 40 years ago, and you can clearly tell she hates her job and everyone in the class. Will make you look and feel stupid if you ask questions.

I had to drop this class because Kate was the most demotivating professor i have ever had. She will make you feel incompetent. Once she has her mind made up about you she won't acknowledge you nor help you.

Kate is savage. I think the majority agrees that she makes you work for her classes. But I think besides teaching English she definitely teaches you how to build character and work hard to get good grades. She doesnt teach you English she coaches you how to challenge yourself.

It is good to know I am not the only student who thinks this prof is past her expiry date. Her material is irrelevant and outdated. Don't ask questions in her class because you will leave even more confused. Will belittle your work in front of class and good luck getting any form of useful feedback from her. You're just an inconvenience to her.

Kate is by far the worst instructor i have ever had. Yelled at for eating a granola bar in her class because "her class is not a cafeteria" even though her 3.5 hour class has NO BREAKS. When i asked to clear up my homework instructions i got told to read to read the instructions over and over and over. That was that... DO NOT TAKE WITH KATE

all I have to say is drop the class and save your money, time and sanity. Kate is by far the worst instructor I have had. She is rude to the students and acts as if all questions asked are stupid questions, she wants you to read between the lines and just completely understand her obsession with her self help books. I learn nothing from this class.

English/Communication classes are always boring, but it's something we have to do. This is a college class not high school. She does have lots of instructions on her assignments, grab a coffee before class to stay awake, take LOTS of notes while she's taking so you won't forget anything. She also gives plenty of time to do your work in class.

From the 1st day you will be completely lost. We literally summarized self help books for 13 weeks. Communications? She can barely explain the work and then retracts. Her handouts are very unclear and definitely not concise. If you want to add more stress and worry in your life then feel free to take her class. but honestly avoid it like the plague

Kate is a good instructor. She does teach how to read, think and write reports & proper workplace emails. She does have lots of instructions on her assignment, so take notes and ask questions if you don't understand. She always gives extra time to work in class so you will get enough time to get feedback from her.
