Textbook required but provided. Fun assignments, great positive environment. Lectures tend to be rushed. I had GREAT experiences working with children. Kay gives a lot of tips for working with children and we had a few key guest lecturers that taught important topics. Great class not enough time for notes I fear I've forgotten so much information.

If you don't like Kay, you have no soul. One of the greatest professors I've ever had. She is caring, kind, and would do anything for you. Her love for Art shows through in every class.

BUT she's so scattered you get almost NO personal time with her and I personally dont understand why she is so unorganized. It's just annoying. She may have been a good teacher before she was in charge of ARED but she is so unorganized and scatterbrained. She doesnt seem to know what's going on half of the time and is very bad at getting grades back. Shes always acting like shes doing her students a huge favor when in fact its her job to be there. Wonderful Instructor! Has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of art education. She has opened my eyes to current issues faced by art educators. I had no idea that many children in Baltimore City do not get art in school. Her enthusiasm for art and learning is absolutely contagious!

Great Teacher! Sticks to _syllabus_, which means there are NO unexpected assignments in the class. Seems disorganized at times, but only because she's very attentive to individual student's needs. I didn't think I would be able to do any good art when I started the class and I did alright.

This teacher is the most unorganized, rambling person I have ever met...she have been teaching this class FOREVER and she still doesn't have it together, she moves dates things are due and creates projects in the middle of the year, with all the work I was doing in my classes I didn't need an extra assignment popping up arbitrarily

Good teacher but it's annoying b/c she has an inflated opinion of herself. Reads articles that she published, shows slides of her own work, and tells you how great of a teacher she is. She tends to ramble and talks very fast. She loves art and her passion can be seen throughout the course.
