Katy is perfectly nice, but I hated her class. There were several classes where we did no actual drawing, which was extremely frustrating considering it was a 3 hour long drawing class. She came up with lessons and assignments on the fly and classes were disorganized and chaotic. Id definitely avoid taking classes with her in the future.

Schneider is the reason I love to draw. I came into the class with very little skill or prior knowledge, and she worked with me where I was at. I improved greatly under her teaching. She's zany and caring and makes coming to class a delight.

Why all the hate? Katy is awesome! She does have an open-ended teaching style that may seem chaotic, but that's a good thing for an art class. She's very friendly and easy to talk to. Take drawing with her!

She's an interesting lady. I personally hated that she started out every class with meditation, saying that it would help you "switch over to the right brain." Especially since she insisted on likening every abstract shape you drew to a named object (kinda left brain). I found her teaching style to be chaotic and confusing.

she made me really love painting! i liked that she didn't have tons of structure and sit-down demonstrations. she wanted us to learn from experience but was there the whole time to answer any questions and help when we were stuck. she's understanding about extensions and her class was a pleasure!

She talks to you like you are an eight year old, and then grades really harshly. Won't use moodle, then will change assignment requirements the day you turn it in. She also has used class timeto grade drawings. She contradicts herself a lot.

She's a nice lady, and she definitley knows what she's talking about and has plenty to teach you, regardless of how much experience you have. However, she can be REALLY long winded, and refuses to use Moodle or give extensions. Sometimes her classes are frustrating, but I've really learned a lot.
