Comment:
He is a nice guy and really loves literature. Sometimes he has trouble engaging the class in discussion (partially because the texts chosen are dry). He lets you re-write all of your papers and the new grade replaces the old one. However, after 3 re-writes with extensive changes, I still ended up with the same grade. He's not big on giving A's.

This class requires ALOT of textbook reading. I do not recommend taking it along with more challenging courses because althought it is not hard, it takes up too much time for reading. He's a tough grader, does not like to give out alot of A's.

Comment:
The class requires alot of reading and most of the classes are discussing the books. The grades are based on papers that vaguely deal with the books. A lot of class presentations. Lecture can get boring and seem unfocused. He is very nice and appreciative of his students. Sometimes I wonder though if his paper grading is biased.

Comment:
He's a very quiet professor. He required about 10 books for the class (not textbooks, more like reading books), and then would spend like 1-2 classes covering hardly any of the book. He was very vague, there weren't ever any lectures, more like discussions. I felt bad, because he would try to arrange outside class meetings, and each time hardly anyone would go. And with all of this vagueness, he still is a harsh grader. I do not reccomend this class with him.
