Comment:

Dr. Snyder did not take attendance, but it is very important that you attend class. She assigns a lot of online homework which is a helpful study tool, but the tests are based off what is covered in class more than what is on the homework. She does give extra credit some days just for showing up. She is nice and helpful if you give her a chance!

Comment:

It was bad enough that I had this class MWF, but the fact that we had to cover 14 chapters in 15 weeks meant we couldn't take one day off. It might be due to the coursework, but she never let out early and never once canceled class. This was my first chem class at Winthrop, and I hated it.

She goes into too much detail about the history of chemistry instead of focusing on math and equations that will be on the test. The examples she shows in class are no where near as hard as the ones on homework, quizzes, and tests. She is not good at explaining the material, which is a bad trait for a chem professor, especially for beginning chem

Dr. Snyder cares about her students and I always received an email back or could see her outside of class. She was always willing to help. With that being said, this class is very very difficult. Half of it is on smart work and smart work is nothing like the tests she gives. If I weren't in a study group or getting tutoring I would have failed.

She knows what she's talking about, but she doesn't know how to explain things properly. She leaves things out. This class was very frustrating to me bc I've never had trouble with chem until I got to this class. I finally realized it was not me, but her. She's nice, but she assumes that everyone already knows this stuff. I could say more honestly.

She isn't very clear when she teaches. I believe she knows what she is teaching but she can't dumb it down to our level. She teaches like we already know the material when I certainly did not know what thermodynamics or kinetics were before I took the class. I wouldn't recommend

She was horrible. When you ask a question, she gives you attitude for asking a question, because she feels that everything easy and self-explanatory. NOT! She does not take the time the help you, well in order to do that you have to teach.... which she does not do! Bottom line.... never take her!!!

Dr. Snyder was probably the worst professor I've ever had. She never explained the material and expected you to learn everything yourself. She didn't help with anything, even if you went and saw her after class. Plus her tests are nothing like the homework or what she gives out in class.

Dr. Snyder is a hard professor, but she is great! She will make sure that not only understand the lecture, but also how it relates to chemistry as a whole. If you want an easy A, then she is not for you. Put if you want to completely understand chemistry, including the challenges then she is the lady. I would take many more classes with Dr. Snyder!

Dr. Snyder was absolutely amazing. She clearly explained the material and always asked if there were questions about it. Her grading is fair, but the exams are hard. She wants you to succeed, but she's not going to spoon feed you. I'm awful at chem and still got a high A. I would take more of her classes in a heartbeat. Great teacher great class.

I loved Dr. Snyder! I thought the class was awesome and she explained the material better than any other chem teacher I have had. I would recommend her to anyone needing a chem class. Her tests are strictly from class discussion and homework and she is a fair grader. She wants you to succeed and is very helpful if you do not understand something.

I took this class in the summer and it wasn't as bad as people who rated her to be. I'm glad I took her during Maymester and she gave out extra credit opportunity. Plus the oral presentation is an easy A. Take her in the summer. I promise she won't bite like everyone says she does.

Doesn't explain things well at all. She gets really rude when you ask questions. Makes you feel dumb. Tests and quizzes are really hard. She doesn't believe in partial credit. That's why I just dropped her class :) there was no way I was going to pass.

I would NOT recommend Snyder. She gets annoyed when people ask questions, is terrible at explaining things, and constantly has to get corrected by her students. I had to drop the class as to keep a decent GPA.
