Those on here who say she is/was a good professor are a raging liberals. Any point of view that doesn't coincide with her own is unacceptable to her. She doesn't encourage students to express ideas other than those she agrees with. I was seriously disappointed in the rating she has. It's completely misleading. Don't expect a fun open minded class.

Extremely competent and intelligent. Favors the liberal point of view but does not discriminate in grading. Tests and discussions require a lot of prep but are well worth it. Always teaches a lot of helpful material in a short amount of time.

She's very good at what she does. She is very informed on the politics and policy of everything, but if you're expecting to take her class and never show up...you might want to change your schedule because it's not so simple. She knows who doesn't show up and she'll probably grade you accordingly because she knows you're a slacker.

Def not an easy class. Tough grader but is willing to accommodate a bad first grade. Student who speak up must have a clear and concise statement to make and support their claim. Amazing professor, one of the most intelligent in the department. More knowledge of her field and every other field than any professor I've spoken with. If you like Bush just for the sake of liking him, don't try and shove your views around in her class, she's too smart for that, and you'd probably be too dumb anyways. Great professor

I have taken 4 different courses with DR. Kemp, and she amazes me by how much she is able to impart to her students. No other teacher at FSU can compare, and I would take her soon before she retires. Warning, you will get what you give to this class. If you don't work, you won't score well. If you read and attend EVERY DAY,you will get the grade!

don't argue with her because she'll cut you off mid-sent if she doesn't agree with you. as long as you study for the tests (i.e what the id is) then you'll do ok. if you can meet with her then she is somewhat helpfull.

She is intelligent and informed. But she's also arrogant, elitist, self-righteous, hypocritical, rude & EXTREMELY BIASED. I think it has something to do with too many years of teaching. God help you if you disagree with her. I did well in her class and still wouldn’t recommend her. If anyone tells you any different, they're lying or communist.

I learned a lot from this class, but would have enjoyed it a lot more with another professor. She just "snaps" sometimes and has an attitude. She does offer to meet with you outside of class which is a plus. Don't take her unless you are up for a challenge, and don't mind hard-work. You need to be interested in the subject matter to do well.

Tough tough classes, but actually learned alot from her. Don't agree with some of her views but she supports them very well. If you can manage to get an A in the class (good luck, you'll need it), get ready for a great letter of recomendation to law school. Pretty funny too.

Dr. Kemp will amaze you with her neverending energy and knowledge. This course has a lot of reading, but it thought provoking and wonderful. Even in a long lecture, she holds the attention of her students. She's the best teacher I've had to far at FSU. Be prepared to learn and work, though. Not Easy
