Comment:
Mrs. Baker knows her stuff. But be prepared to read a lot in her class. You wont be able to check your grades throughout the semester and also be able to check upcoming assignments on canvas. She talks a lot, and is very boring, therefore if you take her class you might fall asleep. Almost every assignment is done in class including 4/5 essays.

Baker put on her Canvas home page: "I've never posted grades on Canvas, and I'm unlikely to start. You'll have to ask me if you want information about your grades." The class consisted of boring, disorganized and off-topic lectures. 3 easy essays the whole semester for this writing-intense course, each returned with inadequate and useless feedback.

Comment:
Baker is a liberal so if you aren't then do not take her. Lectures are boring but you can only miss 6 classes or you fail. My final research paper she gave me a crappy grade on it and the feedback on why was bull. Everyone else who read it loved it so she was definitely bias. She never posts grades on canvas so you can only guess at what you get.

Really great professor! She is very passionate about the material she teaches. We do have 3 essays throughout the year, but she tries her absolute hardest to help her students with whatever they need assistance with. She gives very good feedback and will help you in any way she is able to.

Professor Baker is a quite woman but she's good at teaching. She writes useful comments on your papers and provides clear grading rubrics for her essays. Not the best in the world, but would recommend.

It's clear that Professor Baker is passionate about the class and if you show her basic common courtesy, you won't have any issues. Show up to class, be respectful, do the work. You'll get an A. She works with you outside of class if you need her and always sends email reminders on canvas. Very little homework also. Great professor!

Awesome professor. I was going through a tough time and missed some classes and she was able to work with me to get on track. Great professor she reminded me why I love English. Great with feedback, not much homework, and she encourages class discussions. Also very respectful for your opinions

She has a very boring way of teaching. I felt like I was in high school again. As stated in earlier reviews, she will give you an A on your papers yet somehow you will finish the class with a B. Talked to her in her office and she came up short with a reason why.

Professor Baker is an excellent option if you are willing to put in effort and take her criteria very seriously. She gives clear instructions, and if you carefully follow them and focus in class, you should pass.

Professor Baker is one of the few teachers who really cares about what she is teaching and the students in her class. Her coursework is not heavy but important and not something you can procrastinate with. The poems and writing you read in class are all important and I will definitely remember Professor Baker as one of the best teachers I've had.

She is one of the best English teacher I have ever taken, very funny, and I can personally tell you that my writing skills are much better after I took her class. She encourages students to visit her in her office hours to go over essays before you have to turn them in. I would definitely taker her class again, and I don't see why anyone shouldnt

Baker was not a very good professor. She was boring and her conversations were pointless. She does not care about your grade and certainly not about you. Honestly, she is not a college level professor. Perhaps if you enjoy horribly boring lectures and staring at her mouth the whole class, this class is for you. But seriously, look elsewhere.

Baker was the worst professor I have ever taken. Let me just say, I had taken this class during the fall of 2016, and after the election, she wasn't a very happy camper. I feel like she took it out on her students. I got an A on EVERYTHING, yet received a B. Her class was boring and a waste of time. Believe me, look for a different Professor.

Ms. Baker is a good professor. Any students can rely on her when emailing for help or making appointments to get help on essays. She will give extra credit which are usually pretty simple.

I took Baker for 1101 last semester and I decided to take her again. Same thing as 1101, 3 essays + the final. We do have to write journals about the readings we do for extra credit, but they're not that hard. She'll judge you if you don't know how format a works cited page (I would too) but if you show up and do the reading you should be fine.

LOVE Ms. Baker! Really nice and points out the problems she sees you're making on essays. Easy A if you show up and do the readings. There's three essays and then a final but they're all pretty straight forward. She has liberal political opinions (not a problem for me) and I've seen that bother other people so if you're conservative, don't take her

I was genuinely shocked to see any less than good reviews about Ms. Baker! She's by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. Sure, she has opinions, but she keeps an open mind towards everyone. She's super nice and knowledgeable, I definitely would take her class again! P.S. If you're a liberal, you'll love her
