I took Dr. Browns class a while back. The discussions were great. I wrote a paper on legalizing drugs. It was ridiculous. I had a strong opinion. Realizing we were adults, she took it in stride. If you do the work, youll pass. If you cant write correctly, you wont. Take the class. Shes a blast.

Dr Brown is the worst professor I have ever had. Not only does she spend the better part of the class rambling about her personal life, she is not clear on what she expects in the papers. She rewrites your paper the way she thinks it should sound and than gives you a D. I have been a straight A student in English my entire life until this class.

Dr. Brown is definitely a character. She's such a hippie but it's great. Her stories are always entertaining. The class is extremely easy and the papers are only one page long. If you have good grammar and know how to read and write, you'll get an A+.

It is a fun class if you like a teacher that is slightly 'crazy'. Yes she does express her political views some how in every discussion we have, and she does grade hard on grammar. If you do not use grammar corretly she does knock your grade down. She is a very fun teacher and has her own views on things. She is there for help all the time!

if you're republican and/or catholic, do yourself a favor and stay away. how critical theory of literature always turns into a political debate is beyond me. she loves the textbook. lecture is based on your typed questions about the material. only 2 grades for the class, both papers. nice lady under the political stuff, but i've learned nothing!

I'm not a fan at all. She is so strict on grading, I had my papers proofread all the time and still she found little simple mistakes and automatically took to down to a B- or a C-. She talks too much about politics and not enough on class. You watch movies and read the book, which gives no motivation to actually read. She's pretty much no help.
