Attendance isn't taken but if you don't go to lectures it will be very difficult to get an A. Prof Dolan is very knowledgeable about her field and I enjoyed listening to her lectures. The final grade was composed of 3 tests and I think 2 other grades, which made the class difficult to get a good grade in.

Professor Dolan and I still talk even though I am no longer in her class. She is an amazing professor that has good dry humor. The amount of information she knows is crazy, and is a really understanding and helpful professor. I would love to take this class again, and for sure take a class that she teaches no matter what the subject matter is.

Just get this- 32% of students in this class received a C. 21% D's and 15% F. Do yourself a favor and do not take her. She's a Rosie O'Donnell doppleganger and just as repulsive. Hardest tests I've ever taken.

You have to go to every class and read every chapter in the syllabus and take extensive notes. If you don't read the book, you will not do well on the exams. A fair number of the questions are directly from the StudySpace component online.

If you go to every lecture and take highly detailed notes and then take book notes, you should not have problems with this class. Discussions require mandatory 200-word paper, so you will need to read ahead for this. If you miss class, prepare to do about 10 pages of heavy reading. Tests are very hard if you don't read the book and take notes.

Prof. Dolan was probably the most unhelpful and argumentative online professors I have ever encountered. She refused to change my quiz grade after I sent her screen shots because she didn't believe me. Her condescending word usage was not only insulting but infuriating. Her "study advice" was useless and she refused any attempts to change grades.

She's very nice and sometimes her lectures are very interesting. Discussion assignments can help understand the general lecture and exam topics. However, her exam questions are extremely specific and difficult. They rarely are questions that could be answered by looking at lecture notes.

the online class is easy enough. All you have to do is read the book, which obviously is not the best, but every answer comes from the texts. She does not try to trick you, but some of her questions are poorly made up. Her lecture notes are fine too, a bit silly at times, but easy enough. Easy grader on the paper. Seems nice to me.

I am taking political science 104 online during the winterim with professor Dolan. The entire class consists of 3 tests, and one paper. Each 25% of your grade. I like p dolan. From what I can tell, she really knows her stuff. She sends out a few lectures every week and they are insightful but very poorly structured. She should probably take english

Difficult professor who tries to "trick" students on her exams. Exams are not knowledge based but rather opinionated. Such who is the better candidate for the 2010 WI senate seat? A. Johnson B. Feingold because he travels to each county. Answer was obviously "B." (True Question) I would not recommend her or her class.

This professor was extremely hard when it came to grading. She expected you to know more than she taught you in class for the exams. The TA's didn't help with anything & discussions were boring. Exams were difficult and even though I paid attention every day, took notes and studied, I still did poorly on the exams. I don't recommend this professor.

Took 104 with her what a joke i read the book and did the review stuff and got a C also we had to write a short essay, she ripped it apart and i told her to actually read it and my grade went from a 50% to a 90%. otherwise the exams are ridiculous and test on things that were not or barely covered, and she makes lots of trick questions which i hate

I took 425 with Dolan who is a really hard grader. If she doesnt like you expect it to be reflected in your grade. The class was not what I expected at all. We had to do a 15 page research paper on a state policy that takes up a lot of out of class time.

I was really interested in Political Science before this class. But Prof Dolan's lectures were really boring and her exams were extremely difficult. I didn't miss any classes and read the book. I'm in the Honor's Society and I got a C. I don't recommend this class.

Horendous. I can not stand this class. The exams are ridiculous. Do not take it. The TAs are also not very helpful.
