Professor Licht is my favorite teacher this semester. She is very passionate about the subject and will tell you lots of interesting things. My class was very small (10 people) and she made an effort to know everyone's name. The class is only for 5 weeks and the material isn't hard as long as you pay attention. Show up, take notes and have fun.

I love Prof Licht's lectures! She's funny and is good at teaching. The tests were difficult, and I wish we could've been prepared better, but she did assign a study guide so I can't be too mad. I wish there were more assignments, because if you did badly it was hard to bring your grade up.

Dr. Licht is amazing! The lectures are very interesting and never boring. Homework is far and grading policy is outlined clearly. Attendance is mandatory and participation matters. The material on the test is what was discussed in lecture. She is a very fair grader and seems to care very much about the success of her students.

I took SedStrat with her which was probably markedly different in terms of expectations from her 100-level classes, so bear that in mind. She expects and demands a lot from you, but you're gonna learn a ton in her class. Tests are pretty hard, but nothing Earth-shattering. Field trips were fun. Just be prepared to work hard.

Interesting class, focuses on students being able to think critically rather than simply memorize. The book was a fairly difficult read and used as a supplement (test material is based on in-class lectures, not the book). Make sure you really pay attention and take a lot of notes. All of her tests had extra credit questions which really helped.

While she's really nice and bubbly, her class is fairly difficult for a 100-level course. If you're not the best at science-type classes, do not take! If you want a challenge, then this class is for you.

Very kind and likable! Good at explaining things and repeating information that's hard to understand. Intro to Oceanography was relatively interesting with her. It's clear she cares a lot about the subject. She left near the end of our class to go to Antarctica! Definitely would take another class with her. Highly recommended.

Dr. Licht is amazing. She made rocks and algae actually interesting to learn about. She explains things in a very logical, clear fashion. She has a lot of experience in the field and tells stories when it's relevant, but she doesn't spend the entire lecture telling glory stories. She doesn't post her lectures so take good notes and it's fine.

Everyone in my class loves her. She is hilarious and kind. My class had 85 students and after the first couple months she knew most everyone's names. You should study and attend if you want a good grade.

This class is very enjoyable when taugh by Kathy. She is fun and energetic and knows her stuff! The class is EXTREMELY time consuming and moderately difficult. Be sure to put ALOT (6+) hours aside for this class. All in all, I learned alot, the class was fun, and it was challenging.

Horrible teacher. Knows what she is talking about but is way to dam picky. Grades way too hard for the level of this class and expects way to much. Could not WAIT to be done taking this class with her as the teacher!!

kathy is a really interesting teacher. she tells you about fun trips she has taken and ties them into the course. you need to show up to get your attendance grade, but other than that there are like 3 assignments all semester.

Kathy really knows what she's talking about and really gets into her material when teaching. At times, however, I couldn't but find myself eyeing the clock every 5 minutes waiting for class to end. Her tests are relatively simple and all answers come basically from her notes. Interesting class for the most part.

Kathy is a great lecturer. She does a good job of explaining geological stuff for the layperson and really making it interesting. However, her grading on essays and exams is slightly tougher than one might expect. Overall, I wish I could take another class with her.
