Inspiring professor with a fun sense of humor. Might come off as intimidating at first but she is great. Makes it very clear what she expects.

Professor Livingston was a great professor. Her class was always super interesting, and if you show effort she really cares about you and your grade. She is a super tough grader however and isn't always clear about what she wants you to do. You really just have to show effort and try. Homework due for every class was a bit much, but overall good.

Honestly she assigns a lot of homework but the work is extremely useful for in class discussions. She is the sweetest lady ever and extremely understanding. I learned so much in her class, and she has helped me with other classes not just her own. You can tell she really cares about her students.

Livingston was great but she was very tough. You had to work for the grade but she made the class interesting and she loved what she taught which made me more interested in it. Don't take the class if you aren't prepared to work or participate

Probably the worst professor I have ever taken at Quinnipiac. She is not clear with what she wants on the homework. Unnecessary long readings. Tests are too complicated. Obsessed with Gallagher. She is very sarcastic and rude. Does not care if the student succeeds in the class.

One of the rudest professors I have ever had. Extremely sarcastic and belittling. There is an abundance of reading and homework every single week and you basically teach yourself within the groups she places you. I would not recommend her to anybody. Avoid at all costs.

I would NEVER recommend anyone to take any of Prof. Livingston's classes. Not only is she a horrible professor, but she's the most demeaning & rude professor I've ever had. Very unclear with assignments & expects you to guess what she wants. She makes the course much more complicated than necessary, otherwise it would be great. DO NOT TAKE HER.

This professor was one of the worst I've had at Quinnipiac. She is one of the toughest graders I have ever encountered. Homework assignments weekly, and if you do not do them how SHE wants them you will be marked "not competent." She was not a pleasure to have. Very rude and sarcastic, its quite annoying.

Kathy is amazing. The people who dislike her are the ones who are looking for an easy A and don't want to actually learn anything in college. Her topic is relevant, her texts are great and she is challenging. But what are you doing in college if you're not here to be challenged and work? You should be proud that someone expects more out of you.

Livingston is a good professor, it just takes time to get used to her. At the beginning of the semester I hated her, by the end I understood what she expected out of her students and how to prepare for her tests. Tests are short essays, and you MUST be specific or else she will mark you down. Participate in class, read the book and you'll pass

One of my least favorite classes I have taken. Prof. Livingston does not teach- she sits at the back of the classroom and critiques. Every week groups have to teach and she facilitates discussion the way SHE wants it to go. Very frustrating.

One of the most rude and disrespectful teachers ive ever had. Classes are taught by students, not her. Its a pretty easy class if you can get through it with her. She is not very clear and only thinks her opinion is right so grading is iffy. have to watch a movie, read, and write a paper for every week.

I think the class is good, and Livingston is pretty good, but the class was mostly taught by students. She helped every group, but 7 weeks of the class [out of 14!] were taught by peers. It's kind of ridiculous. Not a lot of work, a paper is due every week but you can miss up to 3, same with attendance. She's a very nice lady, so take her!

This is the most inconsistent teacher I've ever had. Assignments are unclear and she really only has eyes for thought processes she wants you to have. Class and written responses are steered so that class "discussion" is completely orchestrated. Best advice, leave reason at the door and just do what she wants. It'll just be regurgitation.

LOVE HER! I've taken her for both Mental Illness and Health and Illness and she really knows her stuff. Class goes by so quickly because her lessons are very interesting. Grades critically because she wants everyone to understand her lessons. She is always available for her students! DEF TAKE!:)

She really knows her stuff. I learned more than in all my other classes at Quinnipiac. Material was interesting and useful, especially the videos. She took us on field trips - unbelievable experience! Lots of work, was worth it. Clear instructions on what to do. Do the work and you'll get a good grade. Compassionate, caring person.

Class is interesting and reading isn't hard. attendance pretty mandatory. HUGE midterm&final. pointless, busy work wiki posts. doesn't always make assignments clear. always open to help and talk to students. very nice lady. a LOT of work if you are just taking it as an elective.

I graduated several years ago and came upon this site randomly. Dr. Livingston's lessons still impact the way I view the world, especially in my line of work (social services). She is extremely down to earth and intelligent and if you put in the work she will recognize it. One of the best professors I had while in college, hands down.

Kathy is a great professor and very smart. She makes lectures interesting. Not an easy class though. A lot of reading and busy work at times. Essays are 8-10 pages that are based on A LOT of research, but she does try to help you. If you work hard you will do well.

social problems class is not too hard. Make sure you cite from textbook often. easy grader on papers if you take the time to do well. Multiple choice on tests are hard, two essays weren't too bad. She always cheat index cards for tests. She may get rid of test and replace with papers. They may be a of work!!! Overall not too bad of a teacher
