I love Kathy! She can be a bit forgetful at times and forget to address upcoming assignments or tells the same stories over and over, but the moment you bring it to her attention she catches herself. Child abuse is an emotionally draining topic and Kathy is well aware of this. She cares about her students and offers lots of support.

Kathy is seriously SUCH a great professor. Her lectures were so interesting and she really gets the class involved. She had amazing guest speakers and awesome outside-class activities. She really makes it easy to want to learn the material and she always has such great stories to tell that relate to the lectures. SUPER helpful and fun prof.

She is my favorite professor I've ever had. Her class is interesting and she really knows her stuff. Tests are pretty straight forward and she always goes over most of the answers if you go to the study sessions before the tests. She has done a lot in social work around SoCal so she's incredibly connected and helpful if you are interested in that.

McCarrell inspires students to find their future paths, especially if you are interested in social work or other social service fields. Get to know her because she is well-connected and willing to help students out! All her classes are worth taking.

She's amazing! I took a three-hour class and it always went by so fast because her classes are so dynamic. She also brings guest speakers that provide very interesting input in Sociology.

She knows her stuff. She's a nice teacher and her test/midterms are not bad. Just make sure you do the study guides and you'll be set. I definitely recommend taking one of her classes. It's on of my favorites.
