Kathy McKeon is a terrible teacher. I have never encountered a less inspiring teacher in my life. Ever. She is a poor grader, and if she doesn't like you, you can consider yourself done. I've had 3 classes with her so far (not by choice) and I've hated every single one of them. Avoid her at all costs.

I hated this class and struggled to pass even though I was constantly going to extra help from her and the math center. I did well in Math111 the semester before so it's her teaching style that is bad. Watch out if you have to take this course with her!!

She is a nice person and all. However, she really doesn't know her stuff. She comes to class, write essays on the board, Did I say Essays in Math class??? Yes really!!! And gives you home work that is not related to what she is teaching at all. The worst part, she doesn't go over homework.

She loves her cats... she's nice and really helpful in office hours, but you have to catch her in office hours to get any help. She's usually pretty clear but sometimes goes into proofs that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. Also we had one exam that was impossible

McKeon is a hugely under rated professor. At first she seemed like she would be very strict and unkind, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I missed a few classes because of illness and she was incredibly understanding and helpful. She's also SUPER passionate about the subject, but understands that most of the class is completing a gen ed

The pace was relentless; she never slowed down. I personally would struggle, but she is actually surprisingly approachable. She CAN be helpful in one-on-one situations

The class was interesting and useful as far as it goes, especially the sections on calculating interest rates and using finite math to determine the odds of winning at gambling games. However, the overall purpose of the course was unclear and I felt like it was just a class to fill up a requirement. Also, game theory, a subject which now intrigues me, was never discussed though it was supposed to be

she is an old type, probably some kind of precambrian teacher who thinks that she too special to teach math.she mystifies mathematics and is very useless as a teacher. she frightens students who want to be math majors. she must retire to save the college'
