The worst professor on campus. I honestly have never met any faculty member as rude as Kathy Oakland. She is very unprofessional and will treat you like you are a 3 years old. I do not recommend her, you will regret having her as a professor.

This is a class I can say I learned something valuable everyday. There is not a lot of content, but Kathy teaches you how to connect to, appreciate and value every persons experiences and values. She is an amazing person and cares about each and every one of her students. There is a packet you have to fill out and books to read, but us all worth it

Love this class! Kathy is a neat lady. Very kind, cares a LOT about her students, and she's absolutely hilarious. She doesn't really lecture, but you get a lot out of the discussions in class. She also has guest speakers come about every week based on our topics in class, and most of them were excellent. Overall, a pretty easy class.

Kathy is great. She doesn't care why you are late or why you didn't show up to class. She lays out exactly what she expects of you and also arranges great speakers to share their experiences in relation to teaching. the packet is required to complete the papers which are only one page, attendance is worth 3 pts each day. Easy A, great info.

cathy doesn't teach at all, "grandma carol" does. useless class, do NOTHING except listen to grandma carol say common sense stuff and act like she's giving you the most genius advice. 4 annoying 1 pg papers due every wk. gives out extra credit points for anything random (seeing you at a volleyball game).a total waste of time, but very easy class.

I agree with the comments about her not really teaching the class but the speakers were great. The only thing that was annoying is when the speakers didn't show up. I felt like I wasted my time coming to class sometimes because there wasn't anything prepared. It was an easy class, and she does tell you what you need to do to get an A!

Kathy is awesome. I love her. I can't say she ever really taught a class. It was pretty much just classroom discussion but I thought necessary to relate to other students and learn through "human relations". It was a blast!!

Amazing class, a teacher i would recommend to everyone, she lays out all the expectations first day so you know what you need to do to get an A. She has many life experiences that are very helpful and will be a great influence in your life. One teacher that i will miss not having next semester.You will not regret taking this teacher at all.

If you want to teach, you'll understand why she teaches the way she does, but if you're not really interested and majoring in education as a backup plan-you'll probably hate it. I would suggest finding a different instructor for your course. The key concept Kathy's class: Human Relations is everywhre, and we bring our whole selves to the classroom.
