Comment:

excessive amount of busy work with no real learning outcomes. Can't use the CANVAS online system so the whole class bounces around and is unreliable in terms of deadlines and requirements. Was very rude the two times I asked questions for feedback. Unclear instructions on tests and quizzes.

Comment:

Most unorganized online course I've ever taken. Conflicting due dates on assignments, typos, and an incredible lack of communication. Spent hours de-coding her instructions, and was blatantly told we were quizzed on questions that were not discussed in the required $110 text (which is just simply loose-leaf, hole-punched paper...).

Wow she really knows her stuff! The thing is she only writes in cursive and sometimes it is illegible, also, she can get a bit passive aggressive. For example a kid will be answering a question and she'll respond with "well keep going youre not there yet, but good job you haven't lied yet" But once you get past these remarks you learn quite a bit.

She can come off as gruff sometimes but she truly cares and wants you to succeed. She offers lots of extra credit and is timely with returning tests and quizzes. Good teacher. Knows her stuff

She is the WORST teach I have ever had. This class isn't even that difficult, but it is her instructions that are terrible. I sent her multiple emails asking questions and it took her three days to respond and the responses were short, didn't answer question and incredibly confusing. She is no help and gave some rude responses to my emails.

Comment:

I really enjoyed having Kathy as my professor. She was very consistent on canvas which helped me a lot since I like to get frequent clarity from professors. Homework is learnsmart, it was easy. Tests are pretty tough but if you study they are doable. Overall she was willing to help students and her humor made class entertaining.

Vague with assignments, does not put the correct URLs to use, so it sends you on a frenzy to find what you need. I had personal problems going on and was not able to do my school work for a over a week, I explained and asked her for help and she gave me none. She doesn't answer questions asked on the class website. LOTS of assignments so prepare.

Kathy is awesome! Her online class is confusing in the beginning because she doesn't really use canvas. You have to look in the syllabus for due dates. Super easy assignments. Open book for all quizzes, assignments, and projects. Weird grading scale, but she gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Was willing to meet whenever I need help!

Comment:

Professor Steinert required a Thinkwell lecture series rather than a textbook for this class--and then forbade students from citing it. She gave mindbogglingly vague instructions for the inane and irrelevant projects, and then provided absolutely no guidance for completing them. However, she forgave a deadline when a computer problem came up.

Homework was easy. The hard part of this class is the "study guides" are HUGE lists of questions about the content. She doesn't give you answers without you asking and even then the answers sometimes miss the mark. So you study TONS of content only to be tested on a small, very specific part of it. She does respond to e-mails quickly though.

If you don't read every inch of the syllabus you WILL fail. She does not remind you of any assignments due, she didn't give guidance where needed and her assignments were hard to comprehend. I'm an A student, but with all of the curve balls she's thrown this quarter, I'm not so sure that will be the case.

Kathy can be impatient, and I was sometimes nervous to speak up or ask questions because of this. BUT overall, I found her hilarious. She wants you to succeed and helps you get there. You always know what to expect assignment-wise: 3 tests, weekly online quizzes and a final. Plenty of extra credit. Weekly grade printouts and she's a QUICK GRADER!

Lots of reading. 3 conference chats. Assignments are hunting on the internet and the instructions aren't always clear about what she is looking for. They are not hard, just tedious. The final project is a city planning project with very little instructions. You can tell she wants to be a good teacher, just maybe isn't sure how.

Material is interesting and the assignments weren't bad, however her instructions for the assignments were extremely unclear and when you try to ask about it, no answers. Can miss 3 quizzes and have to do a convoluded city planning project as your final with contradictory instructions or missing instructions. Easy class tho.

Kathy is one of the worst professors I've ever had. Her online directions are incoherent, her responses to emails are rude, and she expects for you to play $150 for online material that teaches you nothing. Midterms are jokes, you just copy answers to study questions on a piece of paper. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.

WORST TEACHER at Bellevue College by far. Not only did I get a C- in that class but I have never had to work so hard to try and just pass the class. Homework she assigns has absolutely nothing to do with what we're learning and she provides no feedback and grades harder then any other teacher I have had. I am surprised she is still allowed to teach

Worst professor that I have ever taken online! Don't waste your money or time learning absolutely nothing. Her assignment instructions are confusing with often misspellings plus she grades extremely hard with little or no feedback. Two long essay proctored exams and no class book only $150 quarter subscription to Thinkwell lectures which is a joke!
