Comment:
This class, for me, was harder than both my general biology and general chemistry classes, not because the material is hard (it's super easy), but because Kay is very unspecific on written instructions. You get docked major points for something pointless. Kay is a very disorganized teacher. She takes weeks to grade things and is not helpful at all.

Comment:
This class was hard and it didn't need to be. The instructions for each assignment were so detailed and lomg they were bigger than the actual assignment. The teacher micro manages every tiny little part of every assignment that I found myself worrying more about following her millions of rules and not on learning the material. I do not recommend.

One of the best teachers I've ever had at this school. Very knowledgeable in the field of Anthropology, and taught the material in several ways in order to facilitate full integration with it. If you're not afraid of a little extra work, you will definitely get out what you put into this class.

Kay is my all time favorite teacher at Rogue Community College. I have taken her Gender and Cultural Anthropology class. I have never worked so hard in a class however I have never learned so much in one either. She encourages class discussion and she is always willing to help. You can't be a slacker in her class. She makes the topic fun!

I took her online Intro to Sociology class, and I was extremely disappointed. Whenever we had a written assignment, I was docked for not including certain details. However, NEVER in the question did she ask for the things I didn't include. She wasn't very good with setting out her expectations.

Kay is one of the hardenst-working professors in the classroom. She engages the whole class and never runs out of fight if she thinks she can teach you something. One of the most enlightening classes you can possibly want. I got a C+, but that's because she's a stickler for exactitude and I'm a busy (read: sloppy) student. Highly recommended!

The class was more stressful than difficult. She allowed notes for the exam and would work with you on all assigned papers, but still left wide margins for error with very broad expectations on both papers and exams. Graded very subjectively, unless you could argue your case well enough for something other than her righteous opinion.

Very articulate, she demands alot from her students but the result is an amazing level of knowledge when the course is over. This isn't a class to be a slacker in. She is warm, engaging and quite interested in students success. My favorite RCC teacher by far!

Kay is completly disorganized and sporadic in her teaching. her expectations change on her whim and do not stick to her syllabus. the required amount of work for a 3 credit course is absurd. do not take her class unless it is absolutley necessary she is a nightmare instructor.

This is supposed to be a 3 credit sociology class on multi-culteral America. The time I am investing in her assigned reading (text reading & a packet of her chosen reading)has me investing time like it is a 5-6 credit class. Her syllabus is not what it appears to be, it changes up to her descretion. If you can get a different instructor-go for it!
