Kay was a kind lady but she was not an organized teacher. Every day you were expected to read a series of short stories. We then answered 5-6 questions in class and left 45 mins early. She didnt give feedback on the 5 essays we wrote. If you went to her to ask about your grade, she didn't know it. I wld try to take the class with another teach

you have readings for every single class, and for the first part of the semester you get consistently quizzed on them, then it kind of fades out. Every single class you work in a group, answer one question and then share the answer with the class. You also have a handful of essentially timed writings like in high school, not easy A's

This class is really easy but if you want an insightful and interesting look into American literature I wouldn't suggest it.

Kay is the cutest, sweetest lady. The class is super easy as long as you just do the readings. They can be long sometimes but they're never bad. There's in-class essays every couple of weeks but she grades those pretty easily too. No exams.

This class was easy, you just have to be aware of the reading quizzes (theyre only for the first couple of months, though)! She does not use ASULearn, which can be annoying. Show up to class, you will only be in there for 30 minutes most likely.

This woman is so sweet and did an excellent job of picking out readings for us. (Authors were not just old white men) If you do the readings and write about ideas outside of the box you will get an A. She also is an inspiration to me, she literally walks everywhere around town and never cancelled a class. She did let us out early a lot too :))

Kay is such a sweet lady! For the first couple months you will have a in-class reading check: 3 short answers, easy if you read. You will also have 5 in class essays, the 5th being your final exam. She grades essays tough but its not impossible to make an A

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! I'm an A B student and made a C in her gen ed class because she never gives out A's. when asked about the C, she said that's an exceptional grade and that A's are really rare. don't ruin your gpa with her gen ed class

For the first half of the semester, she quizzed us every single day. We had 20-40 pages of readings every night that the quizzes are based on. Quizzes are 3 questions long and the grades on them that she gives back is kinda confusing. Doesn't use AsULearn or post grades. But she's super duper nice and isn't that tough on grading.

She's a very nice lady. Her class was beyond easy. She stops taking attendance half way through the semester. She also has small quizzes for the parts you've read. They're only 3 questions and really easy. She also stops these about half way through. All you do is get into groups and talk about the reading.

Kay is great but the class was a disappointment. I was surprised to learn she's a passionate feminist because there was never any class discussion. Ever. If you want a fairly easy class, go for it. Not for English majors who are passionate about their major - I was so sad at how lacking this course was.

She is a great professor to take from if you do well in a hands-off class setting. She assigns a lot of reading, but it is only really important to read during the first half of the semester as she gives quizzes (which count for a very small portion of the final grade). Grades are as follows: 6 in class essays, and one presentation.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. its the easiest, fakest class I've ever taken but impossible to get a good grade in. it required very minimal work but i ended up with a bad grade. she never posts grades in asulearn. she's so old i don't think she knows how to use a computer. she is sweet but old and senile, she should not be teaching. her class is a waste

Kay is such a sweetheart. She is a tough essay grader, but as long as you read and pay attention, you will do well in her class. Don't expect an email back from her, but she will give you some vaguely helpful advice after class.

She is adorable. You can only have 2 absences, but you get out early practically every day. She has quizzes on the readings for the first month or so and then they stop and you have maybe 2 quizzes the rest of the semester. There's 5 in-class essays and the final. Loved her and the class wasn't bad!

This class was a joke. But in a good way, if you don't care about learning anything. Basically, all you have to do is read and show up to class. She teaches nothing, but gives you a quiz everyday on the reading. I basically learned nothing, but it was an easy A. She ends class like 15-20 mins early EVERY day. It was really boring but super easy.

I'm a junior and until now have never made a B in college. This was my first one. In a freaking general education course. If you want an easy A, stay away! Trust me! Not worth your time.

Class was a breeze! She usually lets you out really early, like 20 to 30 minutes early. Not a lot of work for the class. The only problem is how she grades. Most of your grade comes from in-class essays and she grades them pretty hard. I got 100s on everything but got B+s on most of the essays so ended up with a B+ in the class.

Kay is a wonderful person and her class is worth taking. If you do the readings you will pass this class! A few quizzes with questions directly from the reading, four in-class essays and a presentation are the only assignments for this class. She is the sweetest woman and always willing to help and she will do it with a smile on her face!

Dr. Dickson is wonderful! Her class is extremely easy but teaches a lot. I really enjoyed her old-fashioned style including in-class essays and hand written quizzes, no online interaction at all. I highly recommend her as a professor because she's so sweet and cuts right to the point.
