She was my favorite HumCore teacher. Very nice, very clear and concise. I never felt lost or slighted in her class. Offers a lot of help in office hours. I got my highest Humcore grade in her class, and I'm not a super hard worker.

She helped a lot in office hours~! She expected lots of drafts per essay, but returned them all marked up, which helped a lot. Just go to office hours and talk to her about your ideas. Easy A if you do. I actually learned a lot about WRITING properly that way.

I don't know how some of you people got bad grades in her class. Either she used to be really strict and suddenly changed, or you must be really REALLY crappy writers. She was a great teacher and made it very easy for her students to succeed.

Definitely a good prof. Some of the commenters need to grow up - you're not in high school anymore, and Ryals is one of the ones who proves that. If you want an easy A, switch out. If you want to actually learn something, take her class - and TRY.

For humcore she was a pretty decent teacher. Study questions were negotiable, and conversations in class were thought provoking. She's kind of anal about dissenting opinions in class though, but that was okay. Final is easy if you study moderately.

She was very helpful in Humanities Core. She helped us understand what was expected of us on papers and allowed us to democratically decide on assignments if it's usefulness was questionable. Overall she was a good teacher and very helpful.
